Alert and cautious is always on our side rather than criticizing others

Criticizing others are so easy rather than accepting our own mistake or ignorance.
Last month I travelled in train to Maharashtra. When the train reaches to a station in the morning hours I peeped out for coffee/tea. I saw an elderly man carrying newspapers on his hand and selling. With a curiosity I bought an English paper. After coffee I back to my seat and started to scan the paper but astonished to see some old news as I read them already. A co-traveler told me that there are people in such stations selling old newspapers as a new one. I just noted the date in the paper and found correct date of m purchase and on scrutiny I noticed a small sticker was pasted on the date without any difference. On tearing the sticker slightly I found the old date in that. My co-traveler indicated that with smile. I left this matter as I paid for an old man.
I learnt on that day that alert and cautious is always on our side rather than criticizing others

    Ramachandran Sir,

Your experience on the train highlights an important lesson about being alert and cautious in our daily lives. It can be easy to criticize others for their mistakes or ignorance, but it is often more productive to focus on our own actions and decisions.

In your case, you discovered that the newspaper you bought was actually old news being sold as new. Rather than being angry or frustrated with the elderly man selling the newspapers, you chose to accept the situation and move on. This is a valuable lesson in humility and empathy.

By being alert and cautious, you were able to notice the small sticker on the newspaper and realize that you had been deceived. This is an important reminder to always be aware of our surroundings and to pay attention to the details. It is also a reminder to be kind and understanding towards others, even when they may make mistakes or poor decisions.

Overall, your experience on the train serves as a reminder that we can all benefit from being alert, cautious, and compassionate towards others. By doing so, we can navigate our daily lives with greater wisdom and grace.

We should be careful. We should take all precautions. It is always better to be alert and see that we will not get deceived. There are many people like this.
Oneday a street seller came to our street. He was selling Bengal Gram. I was not at the house. My wife bargained with him and the price is very attractive. But he is not having a weighing scale with him. He had a vessel and he told my wife that the gram full of that vessel is one KG. He asked her to bring some water. Meanwhile, he put two vessels full in a cover. He has given the same to my wife and my wife sent the same to the nearest shop for weighing and found it is one Kg. So my wife asked him to give 10 Kg. Now he measured only one vessel for one Kg. In the evening after I came back I got doubt and send the total quantity for weight. It is just 6 kg only. That is how he deceived my wife.
As mentioned by the author, instead of blaming the other person it is always better to be cautious from our side.

These days, we need to be more alert especially in case of our travelling in the train, we might be tempted with some varieties of dry fruits looking fresh and crispy. If surrounded with our kids, they might demand such items to be used as snacks. They are really smart keeping some fresh items with them which they offer initially to the customers to attract them and once there is the approval of the customers regarding the products to be purchased, they cleverly sell the packets containing substandard materials.
Hence we need to be maximum alert while entering into negotiations during our journey.
However, I am shocked to read the author's experience how he was selling old newspapers pasting the latest date over it so that there could not be any suspicion from the side of the customers. His image as being an old man goes in his favour to woo the customers.

It is important to be alert and cautious in our daily lives to ensure our safety and the safety of those around us. This means being aware of potential risks and taking steps to mitigate them. For example, if we are walking on a busy street, we should be alert to the traffic and avoid using our phones or other distractions that could cause us to be inattentive.

Being alert and cautious also means taking responsibility for our own actions and decisions, rather than placing blame on others. It is easy to criticize others when things go wrong, but it is much more productive to focus on what we can do to prevent similar situations from happening in the future.

By being alert and cautious, we can also contribute to a more positive and constructive environment. For example, if we notice that someone is struggling or needs help, we can offer assistance rather than ignoring the situation or criticizing the person for being in that position.

Ultimately, being alert and cautious is about taking a proactive approach to life, rather than a reactive one. It means taking control of our own actions and decisions, and being aware of the potential consequences of those actions. By doing so, we can create a safer and more positive world for ourselves and those around us.
