Tips for making more money from the Knowledge Center

As you all know, we are planning to heavily focus on the Knowledge Center in the future and most of our reward programs will be focused on this section.

I encourage all members to focus in this section and contribute actively. Our annual awards also will be primarily focused on this section.

Below are some tips to make the best out of the Knowledge Center:

    1. Don't just write plain text answers like an essay. Use <b>, Use <i>, Use <u>, <h3>, tags occasionally to highlight headings, subheadings, and important terms. But don't use it excessively.

    2. Give links to other education-related topics and college/university sections.

    3. Give external links to authentic university/college official websites wherever necessary.

    4. Use bullet points and properly formatted text wherever necessary.

5.Invite your friends and suggest them to make money by contributing in Knowledge Center. You will get referral rewards when they make money.

Thank you for your suggestions and updates. We will be following the suggestions in our future submissions.
I like to know why some of the approved answers are not being given CC or points. If the reason is the quality of the write-up, the author can be asked to modify it accordingly. If the write-up doesn't deserve CC at least points may be given. Awarding Zero points to an approved topic may demotivate the member contributing there, I feel. I request the Webmaster to look into this. This is just a request. The Webmaster's decision will be final and hence I am trying to bring it to his notice.

    Dr Rao,

As far as I am aware, none of the topics are awarded points or cc. Have you seen any with these? Please share the URL if this is the case.

    Vandana,
I am receiving an email once my answers are reviewed. In that mail if the submission is approved they are giving a clickable link mentioning click here for more details. When we click on that the following information is shown.

    TOPIC:
    Answer Status:
    Remarks from Editors:
    Earnings for Answer:
    Total Earnings from Knowledge Center:

In the earnings for answers, the cc given is shown. For one of my answers, the status is shown as approved and earnings are shown as '0'
That is the reason I mentioned the point here. In my above post, I mentioned it as the topic. I might have mentioned it as answer. Sorry for the inconvenience.

    Dr Rao,

You stated, "I like to know why some of the approved topics are not being given CC or points." Here, you are referring to the topic (the question), hence my response. Now you are mentioning that cc is not given for the answer (comment). Do be more clear whenever you raise a query.

I will inform Tony Sir about the cc for approved answers. It would help if you could give the URL of the page (topic) where you submitted the answer for quick reference.

I have already mentioned sorry for the inconvenience caused to you. As it is a new section, I am trying to get conversant with the nomenclature. I will try to be more specific.

The URL of the page is https://www.indiastudychannel.com/topics/osmania-university-admissions.
    This is for your information.

    Tony Sir,

Thank you for emphasizing the importance of the Knowledge Center and the upcoming reward programs. I agree that this section is a valuable resource for members and can benefit from active contributions especially with your guidance and encouragement. I look forward to contributing more to the Knowledge Center within my limitations.

    Tony Sir,

My answer status in the KC for the following (https://www.indiastudychannel.com/topics/bhu-mba-admission-2021) still shows pending though I have changed the content as per the guidelines mailed to me by the editor day before yesterday. I have modified the content using h3 tags according to the mail I received and changed the content relevant to the topic. In fact, I chose the topic to answer it showed "BHU MBA admissions." However, when I tried to post the content, it did reveal "BHU MBA admissions 2023." It seems to be showing 2021 in the link as well.

I request you to take this issue into consideration.

Thanks for the tips and we will try to make all efforts to make knowledge centre outstand in educational activities in the web space. It is a modest beginning and I hope that it will further increase as more and more members participate.

Some postings are being kept in Pending status. Even though the authors did the needful also, the status is showing pending only. Such threads are not being reviewed by the Editors and they are in that status for a long. Once the author did the correction if the posting appears to be reviewed posting. the editors may get an idea and they may do the needful. In the ask experts section and Article section, this is the procedure followed. I think the same can be introduced here also. This is just a suggestion for the top people. They can do the needful.

Thank you very much Tony sir. Almost all the issues are resolved. Once more thing when we check our point in the top performer, the section KC is not available. Please include this option to check the points section wise.

    Sir,

I think there are many articles also are in pending state. I visited few of the articles and found they are not yet reviewed and approved. There are approx 10-11 articles. Also there are many articles where editors had done their work but authors need to update their articles.

Hope to see them all live soon!

Geeta, your point at #772531 is not related to this thread. You could have raised a separate thread if at all required though that is not the case here. It is for the authors to make necessary corrections to the articles that have been shifted to pending status and it will remain there so long as they do not do the needful. Articles are reviewed by the editors as early as possible though there may be a delay at times due to some other commitments.

    Everyone,

Good to see the stupendous response of members to our new section. Thank you. We appreciate it.

After three months of contributing to the Knowledge Centre, by now those who are regularly contributing should be aware-
    1. Use Grammarly always before submitting. It is not that you should check only typos, spelling errors, grammar mistakes, etc but also things like spacing and punctuation. We often see a gap of three spaces between two words, instead of just one, or a long gap in mid-sentence, so much so that part of the sentence is on one line, and it then continues on the next line. It gives the impression of copy-pasting from some site and just plonking it here!

    2. Tony Sir has stated to give internal links. Please understand that there is a valid reason for it. It will keep readers within the pages of a ISC for a little longer, and thereby enhance traffic, and perhaps revenue as well. So do make the effort to give links to colleges/universities/schools/courses or even an article or AE thread, as per relevance. If you are responding to a study abroad-related topic, you could give a link to the Study Abroad section, and if a specific country, to that category. Keep in mind that giving links, using headings, and the relevant tags as suggested by Tony Sir will also make your content dynamic-looking, just like a mini-article. It will also likely get you better cc!

    3. It is advisable to read the other comments (answers) first before putting in your own. It enhances a page to see varied content rather than a repetition of information.

    4. As we progress ahead with this section and work towards making it a success, we would like to see better quality now in terms of information. Instead of, for example, merely giving a list of suggested universities for a course, and repeating for every university that it offers specializations, why not give specifics and mention which specialization?

    5. You could ask people you know for information in order to get direct information rather than just doing online research to gather details. For example, I contacted a student to respond to a topic, a professor to respond to another, a friend whose daughters studied abroad for a third, and so on. You could make a brief FAQ also, send it by email to the individual, request brief details, and then expand on it substantially to put it here. This is the method I have used for some of the content that I recently submitted.

So let's work together to improve the content in the Knowledge Centre and make it a huge success!

The Webmasters have now put in a new feature 'Find more topics to Answer'. This will facilitate members to find more Topics, and not restrict their answers to only those Topics that appear on the first page (perhaps you thought those were the only Topics?). You can even type in the search box that appears when you click on that find link, the name of a city a college, or a course. So, for example, if you are keen to respond to Topics related to Delhi, just type 'Delhi' and you will find Topics associated with Delhi colleges, universities, etc. If you type 'Computer' you will see a list of Topics related to computer science, computer training institutes, computer programming, and even computer-based tests.

Some suggestions have also been put in a separate thread last month- Knowledge Centre Alerts for improvement.

I have seen that new feature mentioned by Vanadana and by clicking on that all the topics which we can answer are coming as a list. I feel that on the home page instead of giving many Ask Expert questions, topics available in the Knowledge Centre can be brought in so that visitors can see the various topics when they visit the home page. Some more effort in changing the home page is required I feel. Anyhow, I hope more and more topics will be posted there and members will come out with relevant and useful answers.
