Greetings to all - today,14th April Tamil New Years day

Tamil year born with the month of Chitra every year and this is coming in the middle of April. This day is celebrated as Tamil New Year in all South Indian houses especially by Tamil Speaking people. This day we all celebrate with special dishes in the house in which 1. Neem sweet Pachadi - an item made of jaggary and neem flowers and 2)Mango sweet pachadi - made with smashed mango and
jaggary. It is prepared to denote every thing going to happen is good only and we have to take them as it is. The first one is denoting the life is mixed with bitter and sweet and second one is to denote the life is mixed with sour and sweet. In other words the life given by God is though felt sour or bitter initially it is ending with sweet.
Happy Tamil New Year Greetings to all !

Yesterday was Baisakhi (Punjabi New Year).

Today is Tamil New Year (Puthandu).

Tomorrow is Bengali New Year (Poila Boisakh).

Our Ahomia brothers and sisters have started celebrating Bohag Bihu (Goru Bihu), Manuh Bihu and Rongali Bihu.

Best wishes to all Indians from each and every region.

Today is Tamil new year's Day. Their Chitramasa starts today. The way in which they celebrate their new year is almost the same way we celebrate in our Telugu States. The special dish mentioned by the author is also made in Andhra Pradesh on Telugu new year's Day. This dish will contain all six tastes. Our life also is a mix of different emotions and feelings and we should learn to take them equally and face them and progress in our lives. This is the message we get from the tradition of having this dish on New Year's Day.
I wish all the members of ISC from Tamilnadu a happy new year's Day. Greetings to all members on this day.
