Shall we post on any topics after searching info from net?

    Dear Editors,

There are many topics which we are aware of. But we are not expert in all the topics.

My query is what if we know few things about any new topics posted on ISC and if we want to search the information for that topic from google or other engines and then post the content in our own words? Is this be valid style of posting on ISC ? of we just post whatever we know?

    Geeta,

I am sure you are very much aware that ISC doesn't accept copied content so the content has to be in your own words. If whatever you know about the topic is sufficient to answer the queries do you think you need to search about the topic again? I don't think so.

How we are aware of various topics and the details. We may hear from somebody or we may read a book or view a video. Information gaining is always by hearing. reading and seeing only. Once some knowledge about a topic is gained one should write down the same in their own words. No sentences or paragraphs should be reproduced from any other source. We have to put our knowledge in our own words. Searching for information on the internet is for gaining knowledge but not for reproducing the same as our content somewhere else I think.

How can we be master in the area of knowledge if consistent efforts are not made in this area. For that we need to collect informations from the different sources such as books, Internets, newspapers etc broaden our knowledge. Considering all these features to gain our knowledge is a welcome step. But in terms of writing, care has to be taken such that the contents appearing in our write ups should not reflect that that it has been copied down from sources exactly as we found from the sources. It needs to expressed in such a way the contents appear to indicate that this is the original content of the writer.

If one wants to answer a question then one will first have to learn about that in detail before answering. So either one has to read a relevant book or search the relevant information on the net or ask some knowledgeable person like a teacher in that subject. Only after that one can write that in one's style and way producing a concise and precise answer.
    Knowledge is power.
