    Manipur surging forward in education

Last week I went to Imphal, Manipur with a Parliamentary Committee of MPs. The Committee went there to review the functioning of some educational institutions and financial institutions. This time, I visited Imphal after many years. I have been pleasantly surprised by the fact that in the Senapati district alone, there is one functioning NIT, one functioning IIIT, an agricultural university, and a huge Central University. In addition, there are various state government-run institutions including another university. Further, there are many private universities all over the state.

Some additional notes- It is well-known that Netaji reached up to Moirang in Manipur with his INA soldiers. The state government has beautifully maintained the Netaji memorial at Moirang. There is another beautiful resort at Moirang where people from many parts of India and the world stay for a few days. The G-20 meetings are going to be held at a picturesque location in the Bishnupur district.

The Govindjee temple at Imphal is excellently maintained. It brings peace and tranquility to the mind of the visitor. Kangla Fort is standing majestically with its many known and unknown histories.

The erstwhile kingdom of 'Kangla Sha' has been progressing very fast thanks to the present Central Government and the State Government. The state is definitely having the blessings of Thangal General, Tikendrajit Senapati, Paona Brajabasi, and Yengkhoiba Major.

[Edited- the primary focus should be on the educational aspect and you can incite a discussion on the universities and institutions with more details on them. We are allowing the additional info. of tourist attractions this once as extra notes. References to liquor and other things are not acceptable.]

Manipur is one of the northeastern states of India that has shown significant development in the education sector in recent years. Here are some of the ways in which Manipur has developed in education growth:

Literacy Rate: Manipur has achieved a literacy rate of 79.85%, which is above the national average of 77.7%. This is due to the state government's focus on education and the efforts made by various NGOs and community organizations.

Improved Infrastructure: The Manipur government has invested heavily in education infrastructure, including the construction of new schools and the upgrading of existing ones. The state government has also provided funds for the purchase of new books and educational materials.

Quality Education: The state government has taken several steps to improve the quality of education in Manipur. This includes the training of teachers, providing access to digital education, and increasing the number of schools offering vocational education.

Women's Education: Manipur has also made significant progress in women's education. The state government has implemented several schemes to encourage girls to attend school, such as providing scholarships and financial assistance.

Technology: Manipur has embraced technology in education, with several initiatives aimed at providing access to digital education. This includes the use of online learning platforms and the provision of computer labs in schools.

Manipur's development in the education sector is a result of the state government's focus on education and the efforts made by various organizations. These efforts have helped to improve literacy rates, infrastructure, quality education, women's education, and the use of technology in education.

I also heard about the development of the education sector in recent years. One should appreciate the efforts of the central and state governments efforts in this development. The present central government is trying to improve the quality of education by starting at least one IIT and one NIT in each state. The administration of these institutes should see that they will maintain the standards on par with other IITs and NITs. Then only the aim of starting these institutes will get fulfilled. Otherwise, these institutes will also become one among many others.

We could see a lot of changes in the education sector in Manipur which is being seen currently. This has been possible due to the combined efforts of both the central government and central government to bring about such a rapid development.
Where as the roles of both the governments are laudable, the aspirants of this state are also taking interest equally to make themselves active so that they get their admissions in one of the best institutions.
Education in the different areas can be achieved through the active involvements of the pupils of the state and soon we will be witnessing a steady growth of the pupils relating to their education in the technical areas due to their sustained interest. The governmental efforts to set up prominent institutions like IIT, NIT and other private institutions are certainly a welcome step.
