    A rejected 'Knowledge Centre' topic/question

Today I was trying to submit a topic in the 'Knowledge Centre' category. I genuinely require information/reply in respect of the topic/question. But despite trying a considerable number of times, the topic was not accepted.

As I require answer to this question, I am posting it in the Forum section. The topic/question is:

"Which Indian universities are the top-most universities for PhD-level research in the field of Extension & Communication?"

I hope some respected members would definitely provide requisite information and help me out.

    Partha,

The topic may have been deleted for a valid reason, and, not, as you stated, due to personal dislike. Kindly avoid caustic comments especially when not warranted.

I think there should be some proper feedback system in KC itself so members won't post every now and then their deletion queries. If feedback shows what to change/modify in the questions/content would be a great help for all members.

Extension and communication is a very general topic. Extension Education & Communication Management is a branch. This comes under agriculture and rural development. I heard that one women's college in Mumbai is offering a doctorate course in this subject. But I don't know how accurate is the information. There are colleges offering PhD in extension education and there are colleges offering PhD in communication management also a candidate can fo PhD in communication in engineering. I don't think that this information is useful to you. You have to conduct a google search with more accurate and detailed information.

    Again today, same problem!

The brand new section is not accepting this question of mine: "How is the standard of Jamia Hamdard university? What are the courses offered by this university? Is it a minority institution?"

    Partha,

With reference to the fresh topic that you came up with, I am not surprised that it got deleted. The issues with it are-
    1. The topic is too long, with 3-in-one queries.
    2. The word standard is not suitable.
    3. The query about whether or not it is a minority institution is not suitable for the KC.

It will have relevance to the KC if you are inquiring about whether or not it is worth studying XYZ course at the university, about the university admission procedure, the university vs some other well-known university in the same city, etc

Incorporate some relevance into what you are submitting as an academic topic for the section, rather than in the nature of a generalized query.

Minority institutes in India have different reservation rules. So, I think it is required to be noted.

Other aspects which the ME has stated, I have noted.

What Partha Sir has indicated regarding point no3, answers could create a turbulent situation and hence such questions are not fit for KC. An earlier screening would have been better to avoid the embracing situation which might develop at the later stage.

Jha Sir, please note that any Hindu student will have to prepare differently if he/she wants to take admission in a minority educational institution, because the reservation policy is totally different in such institutions. So, I asked this third part of the question. This is very much relevant for students.

I think you are active in KC. Why don't you ask a question about the reservation policy in minority educational institutions and role of NCMEI in this regard? You may also ask questions about the very important case in Supreme Court about the criteria of declaring minority educational institutions. A good, to-the-point reply (not beating around the bush-type) to such question will help many students.

    Partha,

I repeat- The reservation issue that you have come up with is not suitable for the Knowledge Centre. We may allow it in the forum for discussion if the admin. decides to open up the forum for various topics like earlier, and if it adheres to forum guidelines without inflammatory tones.

And kindly do not provoke/push others to post topics that you want to come up in the KC the way you are doing in response #772748. Let everyone come up with topics independently and with the admin. deciding whether or not it is relevant to the section.

    Partha Sir,
The explanations made by you regarding the admission process of minority institutions might be different and the aspirants not belonging to minority communities need to be a little bit tactful to appease the chairman of the Board. In this respect success rate would be dependent upon the moods of both - Chairperson of the Board and the candidate himself.
If the aspirant is prudent enough, he could handle the issue in a different way. I don't think that this issue should be dragged into KC but this can be raised separately in the Forum Section raising a special debate session for its justifiably or otherwise. That topic will need the concurrence of administration of ISC of course.
