For some people there is no connection between their academic qualifications and careers

There are many students who do not have any interest in their studies and they just pass some exam and get some degree with low scores and then forget about any further education and try to start some business or join some ordinary work. These people generally do that type of job where academic knowledge and academic learning do not matter much. Some of these people acquire some skills during their jobs and gain experience in that and then make their livelihood by doing jobs in that category only. Some others even get success in business and have a comfortable living.

So for some people, there is no connection between their academic qualifications and their careers. What are your views on this? Please share.

I know many postgraduates in science subjects who are working as officers and clerks in various banks. There is no relation between the work these people are doing and the subject they studied in their masters. We are seeing these days electrical engineers, civil engineers, mechanical engineers and chemical engineers working in the IT industry. Their engineering skills are in no way useful for their work.
Unfortunately, they see people not getting jobs in their core areas. So after joining a job, these people try to acquire the skills required for the jobs they are doing. These days getting a job is very difficult and whatever comes is being accepted.
I know people who are doing excellent business without any qualification in business administration or business management. If you see many of the private industries, the MDs are not qualified either technically or administratively. But they manage their businesses very well.

What the author has described in his post is not uncommon in the Indian scenario where we can find a lot of well-qualified people having acquired post-graduation degrees but unfortunately, they join as clerks in banks or even suppressing their qualifications, they would not mind joining as peons. In the present time, it is really a tough situation to have a job with one's matching requirements but to manage their livelihood, they would accept any job even though it is not matching their qualifications. In some cases, we have seen some people doing their business perfectly well despite the fact they are devoid of management qualifications.

Hence in the Indian scenario, there is no relation between the qualifications and the jobs the people are managing in their organizations.

In my opinion, not all students are passionate about academics or further education. Some individuals may have interests or talents in other areas, such as entrepreneurship or vocational skills. While academic qualifications can be valuable, there are also many jobs and industries where academic knowledge and degrees are not the most important factors.

In fact, many successful entrepreneurs and business leaders have achieved success without formal academic qualifications, by focusing on their strengths, building their skills and experience, and pursuing their passions.

It's essential for individuals to find their own path and pursue what they're truly interested in and passionate about. With dedication, hard work, and a willingness to learn and adapt, anyone can achieve success and fulfillment in their career and personal life.

Remember, everyone has different strengths and talents, and there are many different paths to success. Experience, skills, and personal qualities such as communication, problem-solving, and teamwork are highly valued in the workplace.

By recognizing that academic qualifications are not always necessary for success, individuals can feel empowered to explore their interests and talents without feeling limited by their academic background. With the right mindset and attitude, anyone can achieve their goals and find their own path to success.

Acquiring academic qualifications is alright but for making a career one has to be skillful and able to learn new things quickly. That is the only way to gain experience and progress ahead in today's competitive environment.
    Knowledge is power.
