Can you come out with a solution to this?
There is a poor family in a village. There is nothing to eat in the house. The wife asked the husband to go to the coconut garden of the king and get some coconuts. The poor man went to the garden. The garden is having nine gates. Any person who wants to go to the garden should cross all the gates. Each gate will be manned by a security guard. The poor man was stopped by the guard at the first gate. The poor man said that he has nothing to eat and hence he wanted to get some coconuts. The guard agreed to allow him provided the poor man agrees to give 50% of the coconuts available in the poor man's bag while coming back. The poor man agreed but requested the guard to return one coconut from the half quantity he received back to the poor man. The guard accepted. The poor man made a similar agreement with all the other guards also.
He went into the garden. He collected some coconuts and came back. While coming back he followed the agreement made with all the guards.
The wife opened the bag and found only two coconuts in the bag. Now can anyone tell me how many coconuts were collected by the man from the garden?
