Is it not better to have a standard syllabus for all the schools in the country?

We have different boards in the country for primary education for children of our country. Some of them are

    1. Each State has its own secondary education board
    2. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)
    3. Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) etc.

When a parent gets transferred from one place to another, they face problems in finding a school for their children. If the syllabus is the same for all the boards there may not be much problem for them to get admission. Like NEET, a common syllabus for all the boards will make the standard of education equal on all the boards.

Is it not better to have a standard syllabus for all the schools in the country? Members can share their thoughts.

The author has mentioned a thought-provoking issue. Frankly speaking, there should be a uniform syllabus across the country. Having different syllabi in different states or different systems of education is only adding to the confusion and many students might be deprived of getting benefits in the competitive examinations.
I think with the beginning of the national education policy implementation in our country we are slowly moving in that direction. I hope that it might take a few years but ultimately we will have a uniform syllabus.

    Knowledge is power.

Keeping in view of the inconvenience of the guardians, the author has raised this postings. He is absolutely correct that both the wards and guardians face a lot of inconvenience due to their sudden transfers from one place to other and such a development can create hindrance of their kids for the smooth transfers.
However, different states have their own examination boards and bringing uniformity in their existing patterns cannot be taken up immediately unless there is consensus of all the academics in this regard.
For CBSC and ISC levels, they can readily be absorbed in their patterns due to their uniformed patterns causing no hindrance in respect of their education as a result of their transfers.
For the course structure of NEET and IIT, a separate exercise would be required to make all the courses uniform.

In this connection, I wish to state that the teachers only designing the syllabus for schools as instructed by the Education Board. It is good but by seeing the proses and poems are in the highest standard even for middle class students. It is very difficult to make the students to understand well about the subjects and they are forced to select the question and answers in order to just pass the examinations. In earlier periods the lessons were so designed to make the students grasp in mind what they studied in schools even after their retired stage. I still remember what my school teacher in my third standard taught. The lessons should have designed so as to keep the students with interest in reading. Moreover such hard word lessons / advanced stage lessons make the teachers also feel tiresome to explain the lessons to children.
