Happy International Mother's Day! Though Mother's Day is celebrated on different dates in different countries the theme is the same. A specific day might be reserved to honour the mothers but if we think of a child, every day is a Mother's Day to that child until she/he reaches a specific age. Actually, a mother's love and nature are incomparable and there is no substitute. The role played by a mother is the most important in the life of each one of us and my salute to all the mothers not only on this specific day but all the days.

Happy International Mother's day! Mother is a relation to a human given as a boon to him or her by the God. She is the one and most important person to a person in his/her life.
On this occasion our Tamil Nadu Governor expressed his view on the value of Mother that 'Without mother's blessings one cannot reach any height in our life.'
In one Tamil Cinema there is a song, 'entha kuzhanthaiyum nalla kuzhanthai thaan mannil pirakkaiyile athu nallavaraavathum theeyavaraavathum annai valarkkaiyile' which means "all children are good when born but developed as Good or Bad only on the care of Mother"
That is why it has been stated as 'Matha Pitha Guru Deivam' by keeping mother as first. Here the explanation given as, Mother is showing father, father showing a Guru and through Guru one can realize the God'. Here mother is the first person to pave our life.

Actually, in my opinion, every day of us is the day of Mother only. This life is her gift to us. But for her, we might not have been here. Our mother will carry us in her for 9 months and she will go up to the edge of death to deliver us. But she will forget that pain after seeing us in her lap. Mother is a definition of sacrifice. I know many mothers who stay half hungry to feed their children and see that they are happy. Even today in many houses, the housewife will be the lost person to eat. A mother will ensure that all her family members had their food and then whatever is left over only will be eaten by her. Such is the nature of a mother.
We are in fact doing injustice to a mother by calling only one day in the year as Mother's Day. I wish all mothers on this earth a happy mother's Day. I offer my salutations through this post to my mother who is instrumental for my success in this life. I owe a lot to her.

Like many other members who have already said, I don't give any importance on this type of Mother's Day, Sister's Day, Hug Day, etc. Our life is only due to our parents. No special day is required to remember them. We must remember them every moment.

You are correct as special day is needless to remember our valued parents and relatives. At the same time my view is this. In Vishnu Sahasranamam, it has been told, the benefits of chanting Vishnu Sahasranama will be come to one if he chant ' Rama' (sri raama raamedhi rame raame manorame sahasranaama thathulyam raama naama varaanane). It is to reiterate those who do not recite vishnu sahasranaama to chant rama at least. Similar to that the Mother's day, father's day are to remember them atleast on that day to those who dump parents into 'Homes'.
