    Basics of posting, Tags and Guidelines link on the top bar

    Dear Webmasters,

    Today I was writing an article on French subject. Hence wanted to know the other topics related to French on ISC. After searching from the top right search bar I got the results. But the results also came from other sites. Can we use external links for our article?

    Secondly, I wanted to search guidelines and HTML tags for posting article. It was really difficult for me to search out those links on ISC. Few pins showing the details but I was not happy with the tag details. I know every new members are given the link for these but I discovered it is very difficult to see those. It took me 20-25 mins to discover these links. So could it be possible to make these guideline/tags etc link on a separated link on the top blue bars?

    It would really helpful for the newbies as well as other who wanted on the time when they need. Also could you make it search box results first from ISC site then outside links?

    External links to articles are not encouraged unless the links refer to government websites or websites of reputed educational institutes. You can provide the URL of the institute instead of a link and for more detailed guidelines regarding external links please go through the help topic Restrictions on links to other websites.

    You will find the Help Topics at the bottom of the homepage. I am attaching a screenshot and highlighting the Help Topics link so that it will not be difficult for you to locate. Earlier, the link to the help topics was inside the blue bar but now it has been shifted to the bottom because of the ongoing modification to this platform. Do check the response of Tony sir @#773058 in this post where he mentioned launching a new version of ISC. I hope the help topics will be located in a prominent place in the new version which will help new users to locate them easily.

    The search results give the links to the related content posted in ISC. Though you may find a couple of links to the related topic which are external to ISC, they are advertisements where you will find the 'Ad' mentioned just beside the link. Like any other content-rich website, ISC also earns from revenues and hence you may find some advertised links related to your search.
