What are the age criteria for CBSE 10th standard admission?

My son's dob is 12-12-2013 and now he has completed his class 4. He is going to class 5 in 2023. Is there any problem to take admission in class 10 of the school that follows the CBSE curriculum?

You have indicated date of birth of your son being 12-12-13 and is currently in class five. By going through his date of birth, we can infer that he is in the right class. He will attend his class tenth in April 28 if there is no deviation in the admission- pattern.
I don't foresee any problem in his admission- process for class ten with the existing CBSE pattern.

As of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, the age criteria for appearing in CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) exams may vary depending on the specific guidelines set by the board. Typically, CBSE has an age eligibility criterion that requires students to have a minimum age of 14 years to appear for the Class X board exams.

In the case of a child born on December 12, 2013, if they are currently in Class V, their age would be around 9 years old. Based on the usual age progression, they would be around 14 years old when they reach Class X, which meets the minimum age requirement for appearing in the CBSE Class X exams.

However, please note that CBSE guidelines and policies can change over time, and it is important to refer to the most recent information and updates provided by CBSE or the respective school authorities. I recommend consulting with the school administration or referring to the official CBSE website for the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding age eligibility criteria for CBSE exams.

As of now. a student appearing for the 10th examination in a particular year, the student might have completed his 14th year as of December that year,
Your son's date of birth is 12.12.2013. He will be completing his V class in the year 2024. He will be completing his 14th year on 27th December and he will be attending the 10th examination after that only. So there will not be any issue with his getting admitted.
But I advise you to contact the school administration and talk to them so that you will be sure of a seat in a school of your choice.

The age criteria for admission to the 10th standard in CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) schools are typically based on the student's age as of a specified cutoff date. Generally, students should be between the ages of 14 and 15 years at the start of the academic year to be eligible for admission. However, it's important to note that age requirements may vary slightly from school to school, so it is advisable to check with the specific CBSE school for exact age criteria. Adhering to the age guidelines ensures that the student is appropriately placed in the 10th standard, allowing him to progress in his educational journey.
    Honesty is the best policy.
