EQ or IQ? Which is more important for a student?

Modern-day parents are more conscious about their child's rank and percentages in his / her studies. The amount of pressure they are exerting on their children for this is tremendous and many children are not able to withstand the pressure. The present-day education system may be increasing the IQ of a student but not helping in any way to increase their EQ.

IQ is related to intellectual pursuits like understanding and applying information through skill sets. EQ refers to the ability of a person in perceiving and controlling their emotions. EQ will increase by
good qualities like sharing, cooperation, help, assistance, thinking about and empathising with others.

In my opinion, both are equally important and parents and teachers should concentrate on both and see that the student will improve their EQ also over a period of time.

When it comes to evaluating the importance of EQ (Emotional Intelligence) and IQ (Intelligence Quotient) for students, both aspects play significant roles in their overall development. While IQ represents cognitive abilities and intellectual capacity, EQ refers to a person's emotional awareness, empathy, and social skills. While IQ helps students excel academically and solve complex problems, EQ is equally crucial in shaping their interpersonal relationships, self-awareness, and emotional well-being. However, in the context of a student's success and well-rounded growth, EQ tends to hold greater importance. It enables students to navigate through challenges, adapt to changing environments, effectively communicate, and collaborate with others. Moreover, EQ fosters self-motivation, resilience, and empathy, allowing students to manage stress, build meaningful connections, and exhibit leadership qualities. Therefore, while IQ is necessary for academic achievements, EQ plays a pivotal role in shaping a student's overall success, happiness, and personal development.
    Honesty is the best policy.

While talking in the context of both the quotients, though both have the different roles but if we closely examine among the candidates we would observe that scorings for the two quotients for a particular candidate would not differ substantially since while observing IQ quotient they would equate the challenges analysing the prevailing situations and would try their bests to communicate with peers more effectively in terms of communications. This is possible due to the sustained efforts of the candidates where more or less both IQ and EQ can be achieved equally through their determination.

EQ and IQ both are important parameters and while EQ is the emotional aspect, IQ is a measure of intelligence.
IQ helps a person in academic and career pursuits but EQ helps with relations, coexistence, and cordial living. Both have their importance.
The best combination is to have an average EQ and a high IQ.

    Knowledge is power.
