Changing subjects in second year of graduation in Maharashtra

The first year graduation results are out and admission to second year is going on in Maharashtra. The question is can a science student who took Physics, Chemistry and Botony in first year can change their subjects in second year of graduation?

I think it is not allowed in any state in India. Group subjects can't be changed after the first year in B.Sc/BA /B com. But it is possible in B Tech and B E. This is mainly due to the syllabus being similar to all engineering students in the first year of Engineering. So they can change their specialisation before 2nd year starts. But in graduation, the core subjects teaching will start in the first year itself. The student will have a lot of difficulty in following the subjects if he/ she changes the subjects in 2nd year.
Recently I read somewhere that the Central government is thinking of withdrawing the facility in Engineering also to reduce stress on the students. Personally, I feel, even if the university allows the same also, it will become a tough task for the student to follow the new subject in the 2nd year of under graduation.

So far as I know the subjects chosen in the first year of graduation cannot be changed in the later part. What I mean to state that the same subjects chosen in the first year has to be followed even in the next two years. The same pattern follows in all the Indian universities. Hence the students should think twice before opting for subjects at the first year of graduation stage. In this regard, they can meet some experienced councillors to know how best they can have their opinions to extract maximum benefits from their combinations.
