Way of teaching should be in the minds of students forever

Many teachers these days conduct their classes very officially and behave as strict teachers. Rather than being a strict teacher, one should be a good teacher to be in the minds of the students forever.

When I was in the fourth standard, that is to say in 1964, we had a lesson in science subject about insects. The teacher who took the class for us, Kothai Nayagi Madam, took the class very interestingly. She explained the types of insects with pictures that were not there in the textbook. On that day, when explaining a leaf bug called Ilai Poochi in Tamil, (later I know another name as (Katydid). She said that the insect itself is in a form similar to the leaf of crape jasmine. Further, she explained that when we see plants or pluck flowers, we should be alert about the insect. After telling us this she gave everybody a leaf of crape jasmine and after that, she showed the big picture of a leaf insect and we were astonished to see that the insect is very similar to the leaf.

Whenever I pluck the jasmine flower and see the leaves, I remember my teacher's words. Today morning, when I was plucking flowers of crape jasmine in our garden, I saw a leaf insect and my thoughts took me back to 1964.

I expect a similar method of teaching from present-day teachers so that what they teach remains etched in the memory of students throughout their life.

That is true. The teachings should get into our minds and should be there forever. Teachers who teach us like that will be there in our minds forever.
A good teacher should go down to the level of the student and explain the subject in such a way that the student will understand the same completely. He should be able to clear all the doubts of the students without any hesitation. Then only the teacher will be considered the best teacher.
A teacher should never think he is doing his job. He should think he is making tomorrow's society. So, he should take all the required troubles to see that the mission is accomplished. These days many teaching aids are available and teachers can use them as required so that students will get the advantage and understand the lessons well.
My primary school teachers were very efficient and they used to make us feel at home even in the classroom

Teaching is an art. There are many teachers who teach their students in a very interesting way and give examples and explain things in such a manner that students remember that for a long time.
Our Mathematics teacher taught us in a very slow speed. He was a great teacher but explained things in details and some of the meritorious students in the class requested him to teach in a faster mode but he did not agree telling that his speed was as per the average student and cannot be matched with the intelligent students. He even took extra classes to cover the syllabus. I still remember some of his explanations in Mathematics.

    Knowledge is power.

Yes, the teacher should take pain to make the chapter under stand even to the weakest students of the classes. If he is that much intelligent to understand the plight of the common students, he can be termed as a dedicated teacher. These days, it is hard to find such teachers following this honest principle. They are doing their jobs only to get their emoluments. They have enough earnings through their tuitions and so in their general classes in the schools, they make it clear that they should attend their tuition classes in case they are not able to understand the subject. The same practice is adopted by all teachers to raise their incomes. In that way, the teachers of the present times differ from that of past times in respect of style of teachings.

Good teachers also inculcate good human values of life.
