Are you a stakeholder? Law Commission seeks opinion within one month

All members of ISC are aware that Article 44 of the Constitution of India covers the Uniform Civil Code (hereinafter UCC). Article 44 states: "The State shall endeavor to secure for the citizens a uniform civil code throughout the territory of India."

However, during the 73 long years after the Constitution came into force, the UCC has not been allowed to come to force. Various political parties are dead against the UCC, the unspoken reason is known to all.

But now the Government is determined. The Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal has announced it. The 22nd Law Commission has sought the opinions from all stakeholders. They are required to furnish their opinion on various aspects of UCC.

Members: As citizens of India, if you think you are stakeholders, then submit your opinion and recommendation on UCC within 30 days. Check all details from the Law Commission website.

This is an interesting piece of information. It is nice to note that Law Ministry is taking opinions of the stakeholders, that is the citizens of this country, in respect of this important issue.
    Knowledge is power.

I think this is a good decision for the government. Before taking a decision on this issue, the government wants to know the pulse of the common man. So all citizens of India should express their thoughts on this issue.
How to submit our views to them? Did they specify any mailing address or email address etc? If we know that we can send our views o this. I request the author to share that information, if available so that we all will know how to communicate our views on this subject.

Dr. Rao has raised a pertinent point.

The Press Information Bureau has issued a Press Note where it is stated that the 22nd Law Commission of India has decided to solicit views and ideas of the public at large and recognized religious organizations about the Uniform Civil Code. Those who are interested and willing may present their views within a period of 30 days from the date of the notice (i.e. 14th June 2023) through "click here" button of Law Commission website or by Email at membersecretary-lci @gov.in to the Law Commission of India.

The last date of furnishing opinion is 14th July 2023.

Therefore, I request all Indian citizens to submit their opinion as stakeholders on the Uniform Civil Code before 14th July 2023. Thus they would play a major role in implementing Article 44 of the Constitution of this great country.
