NIOS is inviting application for SAIED accreditation from eligible NGOs/Registered Societies

National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) is a Govt agency providing open and distance education at pre degree level through academic, vocational, and open basic education programs. NIOS also provides education to the persons having physical or sensory disabilities through its 'Special Accredited Institutions for Education of Divyangs (SAIEDs)'.
Many NGOs or registered charitable societies are engaged in educating the Divyangs and NIOS is asking them to get accreditation from it in this aspect and such institutions can apply for the accreditation. By doing so these institutions will become NIOS-SAIEDs for running the requisite courses.
The process of getting accreditation is online and institutions can apply for it by visiting NIOS website (http://eaccr.nios.ac.in). The last date is 16.07.2023.
Interested persons or NGOs or societies can take a note of this information.

This is a good move. There are many NGOs in the country which are educating Divyangs. If such institutes are coming forward and getting accredited by NIOS, the students who are learning in these NGOs will also get certificates from NIOS.
I think NIOS will frame the modalities to be followed by NGOs for getting accreditation from them. Then the interested NGOs can apply for them and get the accreditation. I don't know whether NIOS will make some financial contributions also to such organisations.
