In what way the education system in advanced countries is better than India?

I have heard many people mentioning that education system in advanced countries like USA, France, Germany, Russia etc is better than our education system in India. I am not sure how authentic those statements are but even in print media we read articles telling us that it is so.
What is your view on this. Is the education system abroad in advanced countries is better than ours? If yes then in what way it is so? Can we copy their systems here? Please share your views and opinions.

Fruits from the neighbour's tree are tastier. This is a proverb in Telugu. This point also maybe something like that. I am not sure.
In India education has not undergone many changes till recently. NEP is a step towards improving education and is aimed at developing the skills of the students.
I heard that in some advanced countries, the courses are designed in such a way that the student coming out of an educational institution will have some skills in his hands but not alone academics. Thus these students will be useful to industry. But in India, students will not have any skills but get a high percentage of marks and good ranks. But when they were asked to work on a project, they look for guidance from others.
I am of the opinion, once NEP is implemented in a full-fledged manner and the importance of skilling the students in the areas he/ she likes starts we will also see a change in the standards of our students also.

Let us hope that with the implementation of NEP our education standards will improve and rise to international standards.

In respect of job skills, we are lagging behind and the same cannot be achieved unless they are trained specifically by the employers. The employers are aware of existence of such an educational system in our country where job skills don't have any importance while earning the degrees except in Engineering Colleges where the students are exposed to the environments of practical training which could be helpful to the students in case of their absorption of the different industries. The same thing is applicable to the medical students where they are imparted practical training to enhance their professional skills.
But with the rest of students, there is no such provision for enhancement of the job skills for them.
Hope with the introduction of NEP planning in the upcoming time, the situation will change in favour of the students and then the education earned through such a system could create a positive impact.

I actually agree with the statement that the education system in other countries is superior to India. In India, there are some universities that are at par with some of the foreign universities, like IITs, NITs and IISC, and why is because these institutes have better funding, infrastructure and faculty. Whereas very few universities in India can be considered at that level. In India, for a better base of knowledge of child only option parents are left with are high fee charging private and convent school, and in very rare cases, government-run school comes in comparison to them.

One of the problems with the Indian education system are high fees, reservations (still not proper implementation) and less funding for research endeavours. India needs better infrastructure, research and facility at the higher education level to be in the race for quality education at an international level.
