Job-oriented courses also need University support and affiliation
One is now told that the UGC is very liberal in granting permission to start new courses, particularly those that are job-oriented. A massive number of job-oriented courses are run by several colleges across the country, as autonomous courses. These courses do not have University affiliation. It is hence requested that there should be a simple mechanism where the concerned State or Private University enters into an MoU that should be immediately recognized and duly acknowledged, so that the MoU with the concerned private agency or institute is well known in the student circles.
This procedure should also be applicable to the Deemed to be Universities, that also run several courses. They are also reportedly controlled by the UGC in several matters.
We need drastic reform, and an online approval process, so that this process becomes very transparent and is also very quick in terms of results.
