Why Edit button is missing for some posts.

Generally, for our posts in the Forum section, we will have a chance for editing. The member who placed a thread or placed his thoughts about a particular subject raised by another member will have a chance to edit his own postings by clicking on the Edit button.

But recently I have observed that this edit button is missing for some posts. I placed my opinion about a query regarding SSR Medical College. ( https://www.indiastudychannel.com/forum/114860-Information-regarding-SSR-Medical-College.aspx is the URL). I thought of editing but this edit button is missing. I don't know the reason. Is it a system problem?

    Dr Rao,

As you have mentioned that you found the edit button missing in some posts can you please provide a link to any other post/posts where you observed the edit button missing? When a thread is locked for editing you will not get the chance to edit it but the post you mentioned is still open. In that case, there might be some technical issues. The issue has been notified to the admin and please wait for a response.

Earlier on one or two occasions I noticed this problem. But providing URLs of those posts now is difficult as I don't exactly remember those threads.

    Dr Rao,

The original author of the post you mentioned in this thread was inactive and deleted as a regular clean-up process and it is locked for editing, though not locked for responses. That's the reason you didn't find the edit option. Henceforth, if you notice the edit button missing in any active thread let us know immediately with the link to that post.
