A veteran ISC Star is no more - R.I.P. T.M.Sankaran

Through communications from a member and news reports, it was very distressing to know that our much-respected family member T.M.Sankaran passed away a few days ago.

The Professor was with us for 14 years, leaving his footprints at ISC with his gentlemanly conduct in our forum, answering queries in the Ask Experts section, penning articles, and a few contributions in other sections as well. We got a glimpse into his personality, his career, and his activities in this interview. He not only regularly won prizes in quite a few Thread of the Week contests, but also the prestigious Star of the Year Award.

Just this year he was happy to be back with us after a long gap, and we all were glad he did so. Sadly, an infinite gap will now be there.

We're going to miss you, and will never forget you, Sir.
    R.I.P.

Our condolences to the Professor's family.

It is really a very disturbing news to all of us. He had been an active member of this site contributing valuable articles of different types apart from his regular contributions in the Ask Expert Section. His presence was also felt in the weekly contests.
Though he was a professor by his main profession, he maintained his his decent reputation of his rich knowledge almost in all his write ups including the ISC channel.
The void created by his absence due to his sudden demise is irreparable. May his soul rest in peace in the heaven and may God provide strength to his family members to tide over this stressful situation.

It is sad news. Mr Sankaran was a very disciplined and sober member. We had good interactions in the forum section. He participated in various topics and subjects and contributed his best in this portal.

It is regrettable to note that Mr. Sankaran is no more in this world. I read about him in an interview conducted by one of our Editors. It was published in the articles section. He was active for some time but later on, his contributions were not seen. Recently he came out with one or two threads in the Forum section. I convey my condolences to his family members. He is a very knowledgeable man with a lot of patience and down to th earth attitude. As mentioned by the author of the thread we lost a much respected member and I pray to God, the Almighty to see that he will attain Moksha. Om Shanti.

ISC has lost another great member of this site. Late Shri Sankaran was not regular, but his occasional presence used to bring a soothing effect to the almost violent environment of the Forum section. I was very much impressed when I read (from his interview) about his association with the science movement in Kerala. I planned to ask some questions about the very popular science orgranisation (KSSP) with which he was associated, but could not ask due to his irregular presence.

I had a couple of very brief interactions with him in Forum section, but I was impressed by his (digital) personality.

I pray to the Almighty for Shanti of this noble soul who has departed the world very recently.

It is really sad to note that Professor T. M. Sankaran is no more. His contribution to various sections was remarkable and he always explained things in a lucid way. He had a soothing personality with in-depth knowledge. His contributions and participation in various discussions were true reflections of his personality and we all will miss him badly.

I pray to the almighty to give strength to his family members and close associates to bear this loss.

Rest in peace, Sir. Om Shanti.

ISC lost another veteran. True to his age, exposure, experience and expertise, he was an elder-brother figure to we ISCians.

I become sentimental due to another reason. I was longing to meet him after reading the ISC interview on him. I regret it didn't materialize.

We miss a senior matured member from ISC family.
Let his Aatma get Moksha. Our memorial tributes to late T M Sankaran.

Yes, ISC has lost another mature and senior member. I think we should feel privileged to have been able to interact with such an eminent personality through this site. He should stay in our minds as a strong example of humility and may it inspire us to be so (at least to some extent). I take this opportunity to pay my respects to Sankaran sir. May his soul rest in peace! Om Shanti.

Felt very sad to know about this. Just browsing the site after a long time to know the happenings on the eve of teachers' day and checked this thread. No words to say, ISC is missing a great scholar and human being.
