Attention: France invites 30,000 Indian students-Know how to apply for Schengen Visa
The French government has introduced a significant initiative which grants Indian students, holding a Master's degree or any other higher degree, an opportunity to obtain a five-year short-stay Schengen Visa. This has been recently announced by Mr. Emmanuel Lenain, the French Ambassador to India.So, it is imperative for willing Indian students to know the procedure of applying Schengen Visa. I have tried to mention the procedure step-by-step:
French visa application form: An applicant must complete the application form online, and sign.
Valid passport: It must be ensured that the applicant's passport is not older than ten years and has a validity of at least three months beyond the planned departure date from the Schengen territory.
Copies of previous visas: The candidate must submit old visas for France, if applicable.
France travel health insurance: The applicant must purchase travel health insurance valid for metropolitan France and all Schengen countries with coverage of minimum 30,000 Euros.
Proof of accommodation: The applicant must provide evidence of accommodation for the entire duration of intended stay.
Proof of sufficient financial means: Proof of sufficient financial means during the stay must be submitted.
The applicants must also submit additional documents as mentioned below:
(a) Proof of enrollment, such as an enrollment certificate, confirming acceptance into a French educational institution or programme;
(b) If applicable, a 'No Objection' letter from the applicant's current educational institution.
(c) An internship agreement which has been signed by the French company where the applicant will be interning, appliant's home institution and the applicant.
The applicants for Schengen Visa must submit their application at the French Embassy or at the French Consulate.
