Transfers and promotions of teachers restarted in Telangana

After overcoming hurdles, promotions and transfers of teachers are going on in Telangana. As per schedule, it was to be completed in March, 2023. But, some teachers filed petitions in the high court about abiding of rules in the GOs related to transfers. So, government stopped the process at that time. After postponement of arguments till July 2023, government laid the GO papers in the Assembly to validate the rules. At the end of August 2023, the high court gave green signal for the process. Now, the process has started smoothly. This is happening after the teachers waiting for eight years to get promotion. However, they are happy now.

This is also one of the actions that are being taken by the state government to get good support for the coming elections. As the elections are nearing in this state, the state government is trying to attract people. Many welfare schemes are being announced by the government.
Congress is trying its best to get majority states and the BJP is also trying to get the maximum seats. Anyhow it is good some teachers will get promotions and some may get transfers to the places they prefer. Now many more offerings will be coming from the government. Let us wait and see.

Such practice is inevitable. As the promotions are normally expected by any person in any field, the practice helps such aspiring persons. Similarly the transfers practice are helpful to the needy persons who are expecting transfer to another school or another city in that state.

The delay in our administrative system which is also called Red Tapism is a major cause of concern today. It is good to know that teachers finally won their case and got their promotions but during that ordeal time they have wasted their energies in that unnecessary work rather than going to concentrate for teaching the students and developing their career as a better teacher.
We understand that our rules, regulation, and procedures are a bit complicated but to follow them using common sense would be a better practice rather than create obstruction in work under their apparent shadow.
I think this particular case happened in Telangana is an eye opener for others also and people who are in administrative capacities in various educational institutions and offices should take care of the interest of teachers. When teachers are in a satisfactory mode then only they will be able to contribute in their jobs proficiently.

There are many issues in our system which cannot be streamlined immediately and we should take it granted that delays in the finalisation of the issues in the government issues takes its own time. The main area of the concern is the public servants take the laws in their hands so as to benefited at any cost. Even there is the petition for the promotion- orders since in such lists there is no mention of their promotions. This would be a repetitive process since the agitated servants are large numbers and would exploit the situation to the extent it could be managed.
However, it is a good news that ultimately the Telangana Government has given the green signal for the promotions and transfers according to the plans.

If the package for salary is enough to meet their expectations then the transfer should not be an issue. In Assam, a variable in salary and security of job of non-teaching staff is very uncertain. Also, you all feel pain to know about them, especially SSA contractual employees who are working at the block level always go through these kinds of acts like transfer, deputation etc.
