It is really a right point raised by the author that despite the fact that the mobile phones provide the students with the numerous benefits in terms of their studies apart from other supporting features in other fields. However, the main drawback what we observe that the pupils are badly addicted to viewing other features such as videos, What's Apps and other favourable sites causing a distraction to their studies. Moreover, it is equally bad to surf the net or paying attention to other sites when the teacher is already in the classroom for supporting the students for their studies. The ultimate result is that they would be no more interested for the classroom sessions due to their aversions from the teachers and text books.
The only remedy under such a situation is to ban any the smartphone in the school premises. The immediate results might not be visible but in due course, it would ease the burden of the both the teachers and the students due to their mutual focus on the classroom sessions.

In my opinion, not only in schools but also houses one should not allow children to use smartphones. I have seen some children spending a lot of time on their phones only. Our servant maid's son will be on a smartphone for about 6 to 8 hours a day. Many times I cautioned her but there is no use. Many times he will get absent from school and spend time on his phone.
This usage has become very high from the Lockdown period. Because of online classes, parents were forced to give smartphones to their children and children used this as a chance. In AP and Telangana students in Government High School are not allowed to carry phones. But there is no official ban, I understand.
Technological developments are definitely for the benefit of individuals as long as they use them properly. But getting addicted to these electronic gadgets will make the students suffer a lot. So it is worth banning smartphones for students when they are in their school at least.

I wanted to share my positive experience with the recent ban on smartphones in our local schools. At first, I was apprehensive, fearing resistance from my kids. However, this policy has proven to be a game-changer.

Now, instead of staring at screens during breaks, my children are engaging in meaningful conversations and outdoor activities. Their focus in class has improved significantly, leading to better academic performance.

    Honesty is the best policy.

It is highly need of this hour. Many parents got alert in giving mobile phones to their children for meddling but once the online education started in various parts of our country they are forced to give mobile phones to their children and some persons bought a new one for them. This leads them to get addicted with the mobile phones more besides their online classes. Further we, parents, do allow them to sit in a separate room for study either in order to give them freeness or get themselves free from watching television and chatting with spouse. This makes them to watch mobiles as they please and especially without the knowledge of the parents and others.
Earlier it was there that ban on mobile usage in schools and colleges but now the school/college authorities too relax their strictness.
This leads to many illegal, immoral and abnormal activities in them and if we do not keep an eye on this, the sufferings are only to parents and not to others.
Anything sour when telling but sweeten or give realization when facing result.

It is an important topic to discuss. Banning mobile phones in schools can be problematic for many students even parents may feel hesitation. Mobile phone has become an important tool for communication. One remains connected with relatives. Banning mobile phones in schools could cause insecurity for parents of students. However, during classes when teachers are teaching students can be asked to switch off mobile phones and there must be no disturbance in the class. Nowadays many child abusers are rampant in societies who kidnap and take away school-going children. Under such situations, parents become more cautious and allow their children to carry mobile phones with them. For security issues mobile phones in the school is fine but it may have other negative effects like overusing of mobile internet and surfing irrelevant stuff online that could destroy mental health. For such things, parents need to take care of their wards and encourage them to use mobile phones judiciously otherwise these gadgets can effect both studies and the mental health of children.

Smartphone has become a big nuisance in many areas of our lives and it is specifically creating a lot of disturbance in the lives of the students.
The phone in their hands is everything. It is a radio, it is a TV, and it is a source of all types of entertainment on the go. It is obvious that it is a great temptation and students would remain glued to their phones whenever they get such opportunities. What to say of the students even the grown up people are also doing same thing.
This is a very fearful and challenging situation and the big question is how to get the students away from this devil which is killing their personalities slowly and also killing their creativities.
Not allowing these phones in institute's premises is definitely one good step but more vigil is required on other fronts also especially the efforts of the parents in this direction.
Limited use of the smartphone is welcome but its addiction is the main threat that we have to take care.

    Knowledge is power.

The debate over whether to ban smartphones in schools is a complex one. While smartphones can be valuable educational tools, they also present distractions and potential risks, such as cyberbullying. Ultimately, the decision should be based on a balanced assessment of the benefits and drawbacks, with a focus on creating a conducive and safe learning environment for students. It's important to involve educators, parents, and students in these discussions to find the most suitable approach for each school or region.
