NEP SAARATHIs from students. A novel concept from UGC.

The University Grants Commission has initiated a novel concept for the implementation of NEP 2020. It aims to bring students together and make them participate actively in the implementation of NEP 2020. It has selected 262 Higher Education Institutions and from these institutes about 721 students will be selected as NEP SAARATHIs (Student Ambassadors for Academic Reforms in Transforming Higher Education in India).

The role of these SAARATHIs is to work as volunteers to promote NEP 2020 through social media and provide guidance to students and other stakeholders regarding this policy and its benefits this.

It is a unique idea and I feel we may see good results out of such initiatives. I like to know the views of other members.

Students participation in NEP implementation in certain ways definitively a welcome measure. The feedback received from these NEP SAARATHIs will act like a correction in the system and would benefit in the NEP implementation.
Participation of beneficiaries generally brings positive effects in implementation of any scheme and to that extent I wish and hope that this initiative and out of the box idea would bring good results in the NEP scenario in the coming times.

There are a lot of apprehensions regarding the benefits of NEP implementation among the minds of the students.Sooner we take the initiative to dispel their doubts, the better. Let us hope that NEP SAARATHA will come forward to eliminate all the confusion from their minds encouraging the students to accept the newly formed system wholeheartedly. The positive role of such guides can be assessed in due course of time.
