Segregating children by gender in schools at an early age
When you look at the photos on the official websites of schools, have you noticed the segregation of even younger children by gender? You will see the toddlers in the Nursery and KG classes sitting around in groups playing with clay or drawing, with girls together and boys together. I have always wondered why this is necessary. Why not group them randomly with a mix of boys and girls? It would be nice if there was no gender segregation at least at that level even if rigid about it in the upper primary, middle, and senior school levels, and just let them enjoy interacting with each other while learning, playing, travelling on the school bus, etc.
