    Self-study enhances knowledge and confidence

Methodical learning is the right way to begin educating a child, which means it goes on step by step, from basics to higher and higher. Going to a school, college, university, or any professional course is not the only path to educate oneself. Getting an educational degree by mugging up what the teachers taught is mundane. It can earn a student some certificate, but unfortunately, one lacks depth. And here lies the catch.

The students must rely on self-study. Simply attending classes and following the notes given by the teacher serve half the purpose of educating oneself. The learners must refer to extra reference books, the prescribed ones and teachers' notes. One must not have the aim to secure good marks only; one must work hard to have extensive knowledge regarding a subject. It is possible only through deep self-study.

It's a fact that any academic centre does not offer an extra edge to any particular student; some students still excel extraordinarily. It is only because their preparation is a few notches above those who just relied on teaching and notes available to them in their class. Their self-study of different reference books and day-to-day observations brighten their mind and make them highly knowledgeable and confident. Thus, students must give importance to keen observation and self-study.

That is true. However, the habit of self-study will come to the students during higher studies. When they are in primary studies, first of all, they should understand what was taught in the class. Once he gets habituated to that interest in learning will develop and if the teachers and parents encourage students, the habit of self-study will come.
I have seen many students purchase guides and read them. They may get a good percentage in the examinations. But they may not get a grip on the subject. But if we hear what the teacher says, read the textbook on our own and then make notes, we will get a very good understanding of the subject. If any complex problems are there, we can refer to further books or we may approach our teacher to get the doubts clarified.
This is the best way of learning and such students will get a better subject knowledge and they can easily apply the concept learned wherever and whenever they want.

Self study is not the cup of tea of every student. There are a few who have a passion for that and it is obvious that such students perform well in their examinations.
Those students who have interest in studies, want to learn things, wants to increase their knowledge, and are well motivated can easily do self study. Parents can try to encourage and motivate their children in that direction so that they start learning things themselves and do not depend solely on the teachers.
The real benefit of self study is derived when a student has to prepare for competitive exam where tough competition is there. In such exams coaching is also not much effective until the student works hard and tries to understand the concepts thoroughly so that if a question is asked in a different way one could answer it properly.

    Knowledge is power.

No Doubt, Self-study is a potent tool for enhancing knowledge and confidence. It empowers individuals to take control of their learning, This process not only deepens understanding but also fosters critical thinking and problem-solving skills, contributing to increased self-confidence.
