Rationalisation of fees charged in the different institutions across the country

Many changes are happening in the educational system in our country after the announcement of NEP and starting of its implementation. Many new ideas and things are being incorporated which are believed to improve our educational system in the coming times.
Uniformity of syllabus, nationwide assessment system, preference to local language etc are some of the areas where special emphasis is being given.
One thing which is still not being taken up seriously is rationalisation of course fees and other fees in the different institutions across the country. There is a lot of difference in the fees just because some institutions are able to provide better infrastructure.
I strongly feel that some moderation is required for rationalisation of fees in these institutions so that the students from lower strata are also able to take admissions in them.
What are your views on this? How can such a thing be achieved? Please share your views.

It is good if it is enforced. But it is a very difficult task.
These days even in a state university and even in IITs some courses are self-financed courses. The tuition fee for such courses will be very high when compared to normal course fees.
There are many types of institutions are there. State institutions. Central institutions, Private institutions. The fee structure in these institutions will be different. However, all state government colleges in a state also may not have the same fee structure. This may be due to the location in which it is situated. Private colleges and universities charge higher fees than government colleges.
One Nation. one fee structure slogan is very good but implementing it is a difficult issue and I feel it is impossible. The fees to be paid by an OBC candidate is different from the fee paid by a SC/ST candidate.
Our country is very well known for unity in diversity. So in education also we are trying to bring uniform syllabi in all the colleges but bringing uniform fees is not so far thought of. We don't know if it may be brought after some time. We have to wait and see.

The point raised by the author is very much justified. There is no parity in respect of rationalisation of fee structure. Every school has its own fee structure and they are not very serious of reviewing the same if you meet these authorities. They would argue in the different ways trying to convince you how thr same is justified. There are certain factors such as the inflationary trends, constant demand of the pay hikes of the teachers being the major points for such a fee structure. Some authorities are even rough in the conversation explaining that the Guardians can look out other options if they want to.
I don't think that there is no other regulatory mechanism to control their obstinacy.

I do not say that fee should be same everywhere. My point is that it should not differ much from institution to institution. The variation should be within a tolerable range.
