How to select the best educational institution?

Education is very important for human beings to flourish in their lives. A good qualification will ensure a good job and a standard of living. That is why these days all parents want their children to study in the best possible institution. How to select it?

What makes an institution the best? Generally, the infrastructure, faculty, library, laboratories and other facilities available in the institute will be important for an institute to become the best.

When we want to admit our child to a college, we should visit the school, and talk to the staff there. We have to see the facilities available and know about their achievements in the previous years. We should meet the parents of the present students and know about the institute. Based on the feedback and the data we can take a decision.

This is what I feel is the best way. I solicit the ideas of other members also.

For selecting a good school for our children we have to first find out its credentials. Whether it is approved by the government or not or it is recognised by an authorised body or not.
Apart from that other important points are the quality of teachers, annual results of the students of that school or college, infrastructure facilities etc.
One can also visit the reputed websites where details of educational institutions along with the courses offered and admission process are mentioned in great details. From such websites also one can get a good idea about the particular school or college where one is planning to admit one's children. Some websites give the ratings of the institutions also based on reviews and other information and that can also be considered by the parents.
Some people are particular about the course fee also because they are not in a position to shell out huge amounts just on the education of their children. So they will consider that also for finalisation of an educational institution.

    Knowledge is power.

It is a useful post which gives the details of finding the best educational institution(s). But the important question is whether the student can get admission in that school/college.

Further, it is very debatable issue whether a student coming out from the so-called best educational institution will be ultimately successful in life, or not. In this connection, it is pertinent to recall that not one of the scientists/engineers associated with the ISRO's Chandrayaan or Aditya project is alum of IITs, when IITs produce the best engineers/technocrats of the country.

So, the issue is much more complex. Mere identification of good schools/college or univerities won't do much for the betterment of the students.
