Internships are very useful to the students

Learning a subject is very important. At the same time, understanding where to use and how to use the learned subject is also very important. Bookish knowledge alone will not serve the purpose these days.

By the time a student comes out of school or college, he should have a sufficient understanding of the usefulness of the subject learned. Otherwise, the employment chances for a student will be very low. Organisations want people who can deliver things.

In this connection, internships are becoming very crucial. Already this fact has been noticed and in NEP 2020, these internships are made mandatory. These internships are helping students to understand what is being expected from them by the organisations. These internships are helping students to attain some skills which will be very helpful to them in obtaining a job.

The author is correct that internship is very crucial to make the students practical where they will apply the theoretical knowledge in the areas of their work.
Internships provides the students the opportunities how best the work can be done in a group with the participation of each member in the group. This provides the students to be familiar with the industrial working environment.
All the skills learnt by them in the organizations can be very fruitful in the later stages. This can raise their analytical abilities, which would prove to be assets for them.

There was a time when people before joining a factory or workplace were given specific trainings known as introductory training or multidisciplinary induction training which helped them in taking up the tasks in the company.
Later the trend of internships started and today internships has almost replaced that induction training. So, many students undertake various internship programs today to prepare themselves to take up challenging jobs in the respective companies.
