Will learning Excel at the school level have long-term benefits?
Today, children are learning the basics of computers in school itself, understanding simple programming languages as well. On their own, too, children learn coding and other aspects of software through free online tutorials. While MS Word and PPT are perhaps easy to pick up when learning the basics, using Excel may take a while. I feel that since nowadays data entry is mostly done in Excel spreadsheets and the tools therein are useful in organizing and collating the data, learning Excel early would be beneficial at some later stage in the future career of the student.Do you think Excel should be part of the curriculum in senior school? Or would it be just something that students would consider as a burden and useless to learn?
