Students should prepare a mind map to study in a better way

The mind map is a visualization of information in a diagrammatic form. A student should always use a mind map after every chapter or every topic. A mind map collects all the information of a chapter in a simple diagram and will help the student to revise the chapter at the time of examination. Students can stick this mind map on the wall of the study room to revise the topic a regular intervals.

I have used the mind map in my college type for difficult topics. Have you ever used a mind map at any time? Members are requested to share their opinions in this thread.

A mind map is a tool for the brain. This will help students to remember what they studied in a particular chapter and how it related to the chapters studied in the same subject. This will be useful to make a note of what our mind understands about that subject. It will help students to think, collect information, remember, and create ideas. It will help us to think deeper.
In process industries, we make a flow chart which tells about the process involved step by step and also tells us the salient features that require our attention. In case of any issue in this process, if we look at this, it will help us to know what are the important features one should maintain in the process and what to do in case of any deviation.
I feel these two are similar and it is a way of expressing the subject briefly giving importance to salient features that can be easily remembered by the people involved. It is good to teach about this to students and they can use it as a tool in their learning process.

Generally we used to make notes in shape of jotted points after reading a particular topic of chapter during our college days. Same thing can be created in a mind map representation so that it remains in our mind for more time. Experts believe that anything in shape of diagrams or depictions make a bigger impact on our minds than the notes or jotted points or summary of a particular content.
In scientific and technological explanations, diagrams or maps are used to make the things clear and memorise them for long time.

    Knowledge is power.
