What is the difference between education and learning

We usually hear the questions "What is your educational qualification" or "How much you are educated" or 'All in their family are well educated".
We are also familiar with answers like " I am PG qualified or B.Sc., B.Com, MBA" etc. or I am educated up to twelfth or tenth etc.
However when the question goes further as 'What are you doing now" we may occasionally get an answer like 'I am learning Music" or " learning Violin, Yoga" etc.
We also people say that " He is a much-learned man' or She is a learned person.

After retirement many senior citizens join courses like Law or pursue other courses through distance education or open schools. In this case, the general word used is 'learning' or pursuing or joining the course, etc.
So the moot question is what is the main difference between education and learning? Are they mutually interchangeable or are they t be used contextually and if so when and where?

The author has raised a very interesting and intriguing post. Education is a very broad term and comprises of various subjects which in turn contain a number of topics.
Getting educated means to acquire the knowledge as prescribed in the respective syllabus.
Learning is generally used in the context of acquiring some skills or trade. It has a practical side. Learning also means reading and then pondering of certain topics or subjects and then to reach the depth of the matter and understand the meaning in a scholarly detail. A person who has gone through such a process is known as a learned one.

    Knowledge is power.

Learning is getting information and experience and converting them as knowledge. skills etc. Education is an approach or tool to learn, I feel. Standard education will be obtained in a structure way from schools, colleges and universities etc. But learning will come not only from your structured education but all from your observations and experience also. Education may come from a teacher or a mentor or a tutor, normally. But learning is normal process and there need not be somebody to make you learn. Education will be more structured and follow a curriculum but learning is not restricted and is a lifelong process.
