AICTE to take over management of BBA degree from UGC

Currently the University Grants Commission (UGC) is overseeing the management of the BBA degree in our country. Now the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has decided to govern the management of the BBA degree in order to facilitate the implementation of NEP in all the educational institutions.
This change will be implemented soon as per the announcement made by the chairman of AICTE. This change will also help educational institutions to require approval from a single Apex body rather than two separate ones.
What are your views on this change? Would it be helpful for the educational institutions conducting Management courses?

This announcement is made during the Indian Management Conclave (IMC) in Mumbai at S P Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR) on 21st of this month. AICTE chairman TN Sitharam made this announcement. He also said that this move is to ensure significant improvements in Management education in the coming years. He felt that NEP is good for the education sector. The implementation may take a long time but the results will be positive once implemented. I understand AICTE is planning to make changes in Technical and Management education.
This move will be good for the students as the transition from BBA to MBA will become smooth if both UG and PG courses in management education are under AICTE. There will be a change in the syllabus of BBA and AICTE may introduce separate entrance test for admission to BBA also.

The new announcement is the positive one and its implementation would bring both the course structures MBA and the BBA under the same umbrella ie AICTE. The pattern of the admission test for the BBA Course will be decided by AICTE which will follow the same alignment as that of the MBA. This would facilitate the smooth transition of the aspirants studying BBA to MBA courses.
The entire curriculum of the BBA course will undergo a sea change once it is amalgamated with the AICTE. NEP is likely to influence the entire syllabus of studies where the students would observe the uniformity of the syllabus irrespective of the university with which the courses are to be attached. Finally, it would be a welcome move.
