Welcome Kautilya to this educational portal and I hope that you will be able to spare some time to contribute in this place where there are many opportunities for people who are interested in writing on educational matters.
You have posted a very interesting thing which evokes my memory of my school days. When I was in my class 12, I was reading a lot of novels and stories and other reading material which I was able to get from a nearby government library. Today I am myself amazed as how I was able to do that while doing studies for my class 12.
Coming to the studies, at that time my main interest was in Mathematics and I liked the Mathematics textbooks more as compared to others.
I was especially interested in trigonometry and used to devote a lot of time in that. Later it held me in understanding many other topics where trigonometry was used for making calculations or solving the problems.
I would appreciate if you also share your favourite text book or any other book in which you have more interest as compared to others.

    Knowledge is power.

    Kautilya Upadhyay,
I welcome you to this much-reputed educational portal ISC.
Coming to your question, my favourite book during my intermediate is a Telugu book written by my father. I did my 10th class from the APState board and then joined the intermediate. Intermediate is for 2 years. My father was a poet in Telugu. During my intermediate 2nd year, he published a book in which important episodes from Mahabharat are rewritten in prose. I used to read those stories as and when I got some time. I used to repeat it many times but never felt bored of reading.
Coming to subject-related books, I used to like Chemistry. I used to read the Academy Book of Chemistry for intermediate students. My lecturer used to give me some books that can be referred to by an intermediate student. I used to spend a lot of time reading those books.

    Kautilya,
I welcome to you in this portal. This being an educational portal would fascinate you much if you could be conversant with the the existing rules to be followed for the different sections.
I am thankful to you for your nice question where in you have asked the members of this portal to dwell upon the subject which has created a lot of impact in the reader's mind.
To talk in brief, liked Mathematics very much but as you know that the syllabus of Mathematics has not changed significantly from the past time to the present moment. You are fully aware that a multiple sub subjects have been introduced such as the differential calculus, Integral calculus, differential equations, probability, determinant, matrix to name a few. I hope you, too, are undergoing through these sorts. Initially I felt boring but with a little practice, I developed my intense interest related to probability and matrix and the calculus portions so much so that even after the lapse of fifty years, I could offer the guidance to the students to those who approach me for the guidance.
If the basics are clear, it would be difficult for you to forget the the ways how one can arrive at the final solutions. The essential parameter is get the doubts cleared through your mentors/ teachers the moment you come across them.
