What is the link between state elections and admissions to a university?
Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad announced interviews for admission to Ph.D. in their university. Candidates were asked to report to the administrative office of the university yesterday. Some of the candidates reached there early and waited there. Meanwhile, the university placed a notice on its website saying that the interviews were rescheduled. The notice does not mention any reason for the rescheduling. The admission director of the university says he has no idea about the reasons for the unexpected postponement.Some of the university officials are unofficially mentioning that the state election that is scheduled for the month's end is the main reason for this rescheduling. One of my relative's sons is also one of the candidates who has to come back after knowing about the rescheduling after reaching the university. I fail to understand how elections and interviews are linked with each other.
