A qualification with a higher percentage of marks alone is not sufficient for career growth.

Many of us think that obtaining a qualification with a good rank and higher percentage will give us a better career. But that is not correct. Alone a qualification with a higher percentage of marks is not sufficient for career growth. I have seen many people who scored just average or above average marks but excelled in their profession.

The qualification and marks are required to give you the eligibility for a job. But to get that job and progress in that line requires many other points. One should prove his knowledge in the interview and written test. The performance in the written test and interview may fetch a job.

Once we are in a job we have to show our capabilities by giving the expected results from our efforts and the organisation should feel that we are contributing to its growth. So working hard and smart, acquiring new skills, and showing results only will help you in your career growth.

I hope other members may be in agreement with me in this aspect.

There is not the scope of any disagreement with the author's view. He has rightly projected that at every stage basic intelligence of the candidate is the foremost priority. The employer conducts both the written and oral test to assess the inner potential of a candidate. In such a situation, both alertness and courtesy is required to be maintained and in course of interview session, the members on the board would judge a candidate based upon several criteria including the grip of the topic which the member of the board has queried, his way of representing and his patience and alertness during the course of the interview. By going through the each and every point, the employer selects a candidate.
Once a candidate enters in an organisation, the requirement for his success would depend upon his performance in a job assigned to him apart from his overall intelligence to be applied in the given situation.
Lastly, we can safely assume that it is not necessary to be a distinction holder to achieve success in his practical field but farsightedness to achieve the goal is of paramount importance.

Yes, I agree with the author. Only getting a high percentage of education is not sufficient nowadays. As the author has mentioned there are many professional who do not have a good academic record but has great professional lives.

Interests, skills and personality are essential for a successful professional life.

    Honesty is the best policy.

In one way the author is right. I have seen when conducting interviews, candidates with less percentage of marks are challenging the candidates with same qualification and higher marks. Their talents are taking chances to overcome the growth in careers. This may be, if I am not wrong, because of some what over confidence dealt in the candidates with higher percentage. Moreover the career growth of employed persons are in their work knowledge and working ability, performance in both work and behavior etc.,
