Best wishes on the auspicious occasion of Gurparav and Karthik Purnima
Today is Gurparav. On this day (the full moon day of the month of Kartik/Karthik), the founder of Sikhism, Guru Nanak Ji Maharaj, came to this earth.Guru Nanak Ji preached unity, equality and compassion, emphasizing the oneness of humanity. His wisdom and spiritual teachings resonate through the ages, inspiring people to live selflessly and in harmony. Gurpurab signifies not only the birthday of the Great Guru but also a reminder to embody Guru Nanak's teachings of love, humility, and selfless service.
On this auspicious day of Karthik Purnima, many followers of Hinduism Dev celebrate to commemorate the victory of Lord Shiva over the demon Tripurasura. It is believed that Lord Shiva defeated Tripurasura on the full moon day of the Kartik month. This festival honors Lord Shiva's victory over three demons Vidyunmali, Tarakaksha, and Viryavana, known as Tripurasura. This auspicious day is generally known as Dev Dipavali.
I wish all the very best to the members of ISC on this very auspicious day.
