Why wearing uniform is important for students?

When we go on the road in the morning around 9 AM, we will see many schoolchildren going to school. We will find all the students of a particular school wearing a particular colour dress. Each school will prescribe a dress code to its students. Why it is so and what is the importance?

I think wearing a uniform will make students think that all of them are equals and all of them belong to the same organisation. That will become an identity for them and make them feel proud.

When a student finds all other students also with the same type of dress I think the difference like caste, religion and status in the society will be forgotten and all of them feel safe and equal.

I hope all the members agree and I request them to add their opinion on this matter.

I agree with the author that maintaining a uniform dress pattern for all the kids of a particular school will reflect that all the children are equal irrespective of the differences of their genders. Moreover, there is no consideration of the cast factor and the the dress code culture needs to be followed by all the students.
The colour of the dress might vary from schools to schools. Some schools will prescribe the green paints and white shirts and for the other school it might be a blue shirt followed by the black paint but in all the cases, the same pattern will be followed for the girls of the same school. The dress code is the reminder that all are treated equal in the schools despite their differences in their cate status.

uniform is just like a dress code. Professionals can be identified only if they are coming with relevant uniform. A doctor can be identified well if only he wears a white over coat. An advocate can be identified with his black coat and gown.
When I was in a big factory attached office, I was proud to wear uniform shirt, though our uniform shirt is with half sleeves and I used to wear only full sleeves shirts.
In schools the uniform is one way useful to identify the school as different schools have different uniforms. Moreover the uniforms in schools become a must as the students should keep in their mind that all students are equal without any bias of rich-poor, color etc.,

Uniform is a very important aspect of any group whether it is a group of students or a group of industrial workers or a group of workers working in hazardous conditions.
First of all it helps in easily identifying the people belonging to that particular group or organisation. For example when we see some army personnels moving from one place to another in their dress then we immediately understand that some army people are moving from one location to another.
Uniform is also considered a sign of discipline, unity, and integration. It inculcates a group affinity in the members.
The management of any organisation believe that if people can start having discipline in having the same dress then they can also observe discipline in many other things. So uniform is the basic step of the discipline ladder.

    Knowledge is power.
