Read articles published in journals. It will add to our knowledge

Students in higher education and working professionals should always be in touch with the latest developments in their fields of study or work. That will help them to be more efficient in their classes or their jobs.

So they should devote some time to going through the available literature. Just reading textbooks may not help us in this aspect. One should go through reputed journals in their field. That will help them to improve their knowledge. They will get updated with the latest developments and they can use the same in their study area or work area.

I hope learned members will agree with me in this aspect.

We should not be complacent that the knowledge gathered by us is enough to carry out our jobs but in whatever the field of our jobs, there is continuous research of updating the technology. It is applicable to all sectors- be it steel sector, IT sector or otherwise. We can have the updated information if we go through the journals of the relevant fields.
What the author has indicated in his post is a valuable suggestion that we need to have gone through the latest research and the same is to be implemented in our field to get the improved outputs.
While I was attached to the steel industry, I have had the opportunity of seeing a lot of journal where in I found that how the coke rate can be reduced with the charging of improved coke containing less ash in the coke so that the final output of the hot metals from the Blast Furnace is of superior quality.

The author is right. My paternal uncle used to sit everyday morning with English Newspaper and He used to write from the editorial page of that paper in a notebook daily one page by reading. He was not an ordinary person. He was holding doctorate and working as a Professor in College. He used to tell us also to do similarly as it would enhance the vocabulary as well a practice of learning new things.
If the present students and children do like this the enrichment of vocabulary is highly possible. In a Government schools wherein my brother's daughter studying, the teachers of 9th standard and tenth standard asks the students one by one to read some headings of the daily newspaper from the school and asks them to write in a Board at the entrance of the school meant for that.
