AI technology Translatotron and Bhashini

During the speech of PM recently in Kashi-Tamil Sangamam which is organised under the Union Ministry of Education as the nodal agency for the event, asked the Tamil audience to use ear phones of their mobiles to use AI technology.

This has prompted me to search first on Google, they have AI developed Translatotron 3 that can translate spoken language from one language to another. But the one used in this event is 'Bhashini' which is an AI-led language translation system between Indian languages.

The event has lectures covering literature, ancient texts, philosophy, spirituality, music, dance, drama, yoga Ayurveda and seminars on innovation, trade, knowledge exchange, edutech and next-gen technology.

Technology is improving; if we know one language, we can understand all languages using AI. Why should we spend time unnecessarily learning different languages. But how accurate this translation is to be seen? I don't know about the Bhashini. But I am seeing translations on social media. The translation from Telugu to English is not very accurate sometimes. On social media, I feel only AI will be doing the translation. Anyhow it is just beginning and we will improve in the coming days, I feel.

Ye @Dr.Rao even i have seen in you tube the translation into English will be horrible. But this Bhashini is voice to voice translation among Indian languages. Also Translatotron is now version 3 and google say they have improved from 1&2 and this is also voice to voice translation

Thanks @Partha. Anuvadini developed by AICTE while Bhashini developed by National Language Technology Mission (DIGITAL INDIA BHASHINI). Both are AI technology with each one has its own mission.
