    Love for the Motherland

Aditya is a rich man who settled in the USA. After completing his studies, he joined an MNC in the USA and settled there. He married his uncle's daughter. They have two sons. Both of them are well-settled and married.

Recently Aditya relinquished his job and thought of coming back to India. His wife also liked the idea of moving back and enjoying the peace and calmness. Though initially not in favour of their parents moving so far away, with some persuading from Aditya, their children came around with a condition that they should come back and stay with them when they cannot manage on their own.

Aditya decided to purchase a good house in a decent town near his village so that they would have all the necessary amenities to lead their life happily. He contacted his best friend in his village and told him about his decision. He welcomed the same and suggested he go directly to the village and then they could search for a house in the town. In that village, Aditya's father constructed a house where Aditya can stay. Aditya requested that his friend get the house cleaned and any minor repairs required.

Finally, the day of travel arrived. Both the sons with their families came to see them off from the airport. They reached India after a long journey. They stayed in Vijayawada for a day, had Kanaka Durga Darshan and then travelled to their village in a cab. His friend received them and took them to their house.

Aditya is very happy. He landed on the land where his parents brought him up. After having lunch, he took a rest for a while. In the evening he just started walking on the roadside. After walking for a kilometre, he saw an old building and immediately remembered that it was his school building. His life has taken a big turn during his school days. He went into his old days and started remembering those days.

That was the only high school in those days in that area. That school was in the centre of almost 10 villages around and students from all those villages were coming to that school only. The school was very famous in those days.

Aditya was not concentrating on his studies and used to waste his time. His father was worried and expressed his worry to his friend who was a craft teacher in that high school. Raju, the craft teacher, was a very dedicated teacher and used to help many students. He set up a good working-class room in the school and named it Motivation Hall. He used to understand the weaknesses of the students and helped them to come out of that problem. Raju started interacting with Aditya and started observing him keenly. He noticed that Aditya was an intelligent boy but not concentrating on his studies. He started motivating Aditya and encouraged him in different ways for any small achievement and used to pat him on the back in the presence of other students. This made Aditya feel elated and started showing interest and improvement in his studies. Aditya's father was very happy and thanked his friend, Raju. Even after completing schooling, Aditya used to be in touch with Raju and take his advice. After completing his studies Aditya settled in the US.

Aditya came out of his thoughts. He went into the school campus and visited all the buildings and was very happy to see the Motivation Hall in which he received advice and rewards from his mentor Raju.

He came back to the village and met his friend. He enquired about the school and came to know that the school was shifted to another premises. Aditya felt bad and decided to renovate the old school building after purchasing that land and starting a good school on his own so that poor people from the village could join. His plan of shifting to the nearest town is put off for the time being. He started contacting the concerned authorities to execute his plan.

Nice story bringing in the thought of love for the motherland in a person who had gone abroad for some job and earning money.
There are many people who have earned good amount of money while working in foreign countries and then come back to their motherland and spend some money in some good cause like the one mentioned in the above story.
Many Indians settled in foreign countries are giving generous amount of money to the institutions from which they had done their professional courses. In our country the prestigious institutions like IITs and IIMs are getting good donations from the rich Indian alumni settled outside.

    Knowledge is power.

The author has described a nice story revealing his intense love for his motherland. Despite his stay in foreign country, his intense passion for donating money for the welfare of the country is very much evident.
Guided with this emotion, many beneficiaries return to their motherland and the parked money for the charity is utilised to the donation purpose including the installations from where they received the education.
In the current story, Aditya could not forget his old school and the same deserted school was finally renovated with his liberal funding so that this school the kids of the poor could get their education in the newly renovated building . A very nice story.

Every individual has his/her emotional bonding or attachment to his/her native land be it a village, town, city, region, or country. We all have a deep connection to the ancestral place in which we are born. In addition, the school we studied where we spent most of the days of our life is something special. In villages, most of the schools are not maintained well and some schools are even in pathetic condition. In cities, this is not the case. I still would like to go inside the school to look over my classes whenever I pass through that area, which is in Mylapore in Chennai and is well established at present. The author narrates his attachment to his motherland and the school he studied nicely evoking nostalgic moments of my school life.
