All the way from Coimbatore to Canada

One day, there is an email saying a Congratulations message for her imaginary travelogue 'My dream destination is Mars' won an award and award will be given along with the felicitation of other winners of different category announced by the travel blog site then and there. The function is combined with their celebration of 10th anniversary of the opening of blog site.

After attending the award function, she went to many ashrams, old age homes available in Mathura and saw many NGOs really working hard to look after them. She returned to Coimbatore and her mind is as usual expected to join her son in Canada.

For the sake of her son, she had given all her saving for his travel and initial expenditure and expected to live with him has gone in vein when she had read the contents of the email. The content goes, in Canada, his girl friend too joined him and they are going to marry soon. And very particularly, she wanted to have a neutral life and that is why she insisted both of them to be in Canada.

Then she thought she has to do something meaningful for her living and survival. Yes, like in Mathura, she had made up her mind to work in Coimbatore for the people of deprived in old age by their sons and daughters for which she has re-modelled the ancestor property. She had decided that property will not go to her son after her as it is donated to the charity.

She is busy with her regular routines of old age home, giving and motivating speeches to the old in motivation hall and also many invited speakers/guests motivate elders in motivation hall. Once, she has been invited to give a talk on challenging the myths of aging in Canada. She felt that her life too has some meaning and really she thought herself that she should be thankful to his son and daughter-in-law particularly, otherwise she would have led a normal life at Canada.

She was talking in the motivation hall about the myths and how to overcome and finished it with a small story of an old man portrayed in her favourite director K.Balachander's film where both of her famous actors Kamal Hassan and Sridevi acted, called 'Varumaiyin Niram Sigappu'(in English Poverty is red in colour) a Tamil Film. The film's plot is in and around Delhi and the old man while giving music concert in Delhi searched his son in the crowd as the son had gone away angrily from the house and supposed to live in Delhi. 'In the same way, it is happening to me as well, I am also searching my son that he too lives here.

Her daughter-in-law has the question in her mind when she overheard the story while sitting in her room and yes she worked in the same building nearer to the motivation hall. She realized her and felt bad that this was the story of them only.

She immediately called her husband and asked him to come to the building as she has some surprise for him.

In the evening both of them surprised her and during the talk, she came to know the other side of the story in Canada. As the years passed away, her son and daughter-in-law felt sick in mind without children and hence living in Canada is purposeless and so they wanted to join her in her charity work in Coimbatore.

By hearing this, her motherhood feeling melted and she had returned to Coimbatore and now her living has a purpose personally too and so she eagerly waiting for the day to join them. She also feel happy that there will be someone to look after the home after her too.

A nice and well-narrated story from the author.
By staying separately without going to Canada, she managed her time in India by helping many old people by giving them motivational messages through her lecturers that gave a different dimension to her life and she became famous. She might have felt very happy when she came to know that his son and daughter-in-law were coming back to India. Thus the service activity she started in Coimbatore will continue even after her also as his son will continue the same. A good thought and well-presented.
