Nilesh Patel,
Glad to see you back! Please note that ISC has undergone a sea of change, including a switch to academics last year. Hence, even though on a couple of occasions we permit a thread on other topics, like this one that you have raised, it would be better placed at the associate site SocialVillage.in.

India is progressing well ahead in many areas and its economy is developing in a fast pace. There have been all round progress in many fields like manufacturing, export, education, infrastructure etc and if that continues then rupee will become a powerful currency in the international stage and there is a possibility that it's value against dollar may increase.

It is a very difficult question and predicting it now is a very complicated question. Indian rupee started its journey with 1 rupee was equal to 1 US dollar, I heard. We know the present position. So what happens in future?
Indian economy was growing fast and now it has overtaken many countries and came to 4 or 3rd position. At the same time, we are hearing about the recession in the USA. This is causing a slowdown in the economic growth of that country. In the coming 4 or 5 years we may see a much-reduced value of the dollar. In such case, there will be a chance for Indian rupee value to increase and it may be equal to 50 dollars or even less.
Political stability in our country is a necessity. As of now, there will not be any problem for the BJP government. But in the coming days how it will change is the question. I am very positive in that aspect and in the near future, India will become one of the best-developed countries.

It is really ticklish question raised by the author. Though the question appears to be simple but the answer of the same is not that much simple since in the present time, we can see that economic activity of a country depends upon the progress of the industrial production, growth of education and access to basic facilities of health of the people. So far India is concerned, it is faring well in all such parameters but at the same time, we need to be self reliant in other areas such as the import of materials from other countries leading to depletion of foreign exchange.
While equating rupees in terms of dollars, the rupees remained depressed in the past but this is not the case at present since we could observe a downfall of the American Dollars presently due to varied factors such as the ongoing wars in the other regions affecting the growth of the America.

I also agree that it is complicated to predict the future. Thank you for sharing your opinion. Considering present economic growth, I am also very optimistic about the Indian economy.

When a country makes all round development and it's economy progresses then it's currency also gets strengthened. So there are chances that it might start getting more dollars in exchange for the same amount. At the same time we must remember that if some other countries are also progressing then it will not be a simple matter to predict the ultimate currency conversion. These things get affected by many other factors also and as such we cannot say that for the same amount we would get more dollars.

Nothing will happen it will depreciate more and more if you are a strong monitor of the rupee value across the world in 2008 to 2011 Philippines peso value was 0.45 against INR now it is 1.50 against INR which means an increase of 1 rupee and a decrease of INR drastically India rupee value further decreases and hit century against dollar value... Now it is 83 rupees. Some Indian hardcore fans are saying that because of the Stock market Indian rupee depreciating. It is quite a false and fabricated statement. The truth is India is taking a lot of debt from different countries to run the country. The rupee value will be calculated or determined based on the imports and exports of goods of the country. The money is stored in the banks, the gold reserves in the country, and the inflation of the country. Stock markets are just fancy things only negligible points will increase or decrease the rupee's value....
