    How can a student reduce stress during exams?

    Examination time is the most challenging time in the lives of students. Even the students who have well prepared and are the regular high scorers in their exams feel jittery and perturbed. Stress during examination is an unwanted and disturbing thing and affects the efficiency of the student in exams.
    How can a student keep calm and composed during the exam times?What measures one can take to reduce such stress levels? Please share your views.

    Generally, students will have anxiety during the examination days. They wanted to revise the whole course just oneday before the examination and write the examination very well. In that pursuit, they will not sleep at all during the night and try to revise the whole syllabus that night itself.
    A student should plan his preparation for the examinations. He should make a timetable and see that their revision will also be over by the date of examinations. Then the student will get confidence and will not have any stress during examinations.
    During the examinations, the students should have sufficient sleep and feel fresh when they attend the examination. Before the start of examinations, students should answer one or two old papers so that they can plan their time in the examination hall.

    The last moment before the examination is the most crucial one and as such the same has to be managed effectively. The examination session consists of multiple papers accompanied by some gaps in between. Hence a thorough revision of the texts is not possible under that circumstance. However, the following points during that stage could be helpful-
    1) They must refer to the notes prepared by them during their studies including the notes of the class teachers. This could eliminate the lengthy time session of their revisions.
    2) No new chapter is to be touched during this period.
    3) It is better to keep themselves calm and no negative emotions should arise in their mindset if they come across persons having negative thoughts.
    4) The students should take adequate care that they go to their beds early in the examination sessions. This will help them to remain positively active during the examination period.
    5) Spicy and oily foods are to be avoided during the examination sessions to curb indigestion issues during the period of the examination.

    Most of the students feel stressed during the examination time. It is a very normal reaction to the pressure of exams. Only those students who study throughout the year seriously and think that it is necessary for their careers can have a calm and composed mind and can show confidence during the examinations. So seriousness of the purpose is something which can make a person strong and able to take up challenges of any kind including exam time stress.
    Those who are not serious will feel insecure and will not be able to face the exams eventually leading them to stress.
