Variation of font sizes in an article

Recently I have gone through some of the educational articles in ISC. I observed that in some of these articles a few paragraphs are in smaller fonts while some other paragraphs are in bigger fonts. Obviously the author might had done it intentionally though I could not decipher the exact reason of doing that. Any explanation for that please? Related authors or members might have some explanation for it. Please share for the benefit of all.

    Neeru Bhatt,

The font size for the text in the summary and the main body of the article is by default for all articles and, as per the instructions next to the box where we put the body of the article, it states that the font tag is not allowed. You will likely have seen a change in font size in the headings only. That happens when a member uses h2, h3, or h4 tags, with h2 the largest, and h4 the smallest. I generally use h2 for main headings and h3 for sub-headings. I don't use h4 except in a rare while, like in a recent article when I felt the need to put in an end note.

Let us know if you require further clarifications and you could give the URLs of articles where you still feel there is some doubt about the font size.

Ok, Vandana. Thanks a lot. I would go through the articles from that angle and come back if I notice anything unusual.

Sometimes if the author fails to close the HTML tags properly, the words between the starting and closing tags will be like that. For example, h2 tags will be initiated by using

and will be ended by using

. If the author by mistake types

to end also, we will see the letters in between these two tags will be of different font and size. Many times when I submit articles it happened to me. But before finally submitting the same, I will correct the mistake. But in any article finally submitted to ISC I have never seen such a difference. I don't know whether any of the authors may know more about this.
