Theme based short story contest - winners!

We had got a total of six entries for the theme based short story writing contest and from the word limit aspect only three were found valid.
Some members had opined that short story should have a word limit of at least 150 words and we can keep that suggestion in mind in organising such contests in future.
I have gone through the entries and the winners are -
    1. Shampa Sadhya - a well written story highlighting importance of family relations.
    2. Partha K. - nice story bringing out the bitter truth about drug traffickers.
    3. Neeru Bhatt - good story bringing out the sense of duty towards one's family.

Though other entries were not valid but I will like to mention the creative elements presented in them by their authors.

Dr Rao has crafted a nice story straightforward ending with a happy note.

Story by Sheo Shankar Jha is very interesting bringing in the theme of surprise reunion with one's classmate.

Sarojah's story is a cute write up but I would take liberty to say that some improvement in writing is needed.

I will be awarding the winners from virtual award gallery of ISC.
Members, let us congratulate the above three winners for their creative contributions and awards.

Congratulations to winners and other participants. Yes Umesh I am writing spontaneously without going for any editing and nowadays there are many editing tools are available. But it gives me happiness whenever I come to ISC and write in forum. That is why I am not participating in any other section.

The winners - Shampa Sandhya, Partha Sir and Neeru Bhatta have shown their brilliant performance in the bringing out their stories with the word limit as suggested by Umesh Sir.
In this sense, I must say that we all being the members of ISC Channel are proud to have such creative members providing marvellous stories touching our hearts.
Credit goes to Umesh Sir for organising such a wonderful contest.

My hearty congratulations to Umesh for conducting successfully a good contest.
I congratulate the winners. Excellent job done by them and their work is rewarded. Hope they will continue their participation in such contests in future also.
I appreciate other participants also for the interest they have shown in the contest.
As far as my entry is concerned, I have not even counted the number of words. That is a mistake from my side and hence I never expected that I will be one of the winners.
All of us should thank ISC for providing us a platform for improving our creative abilities and writing skills. Thank you ISC.

Thank you @Umesh and @Jha for special mention of my story and this is really happened to my friend and I have changed the name only.

@Umesh I hope my entry is not winning entry but within the word limit of 120 which is really hard to bring.

Most humbly and respectfully, I accept the result of the contest conducted by Umesh Sir. I appreciate his effort to conduct a creative contest and declare the result so quickly.

I also congratulate other winners and appreciate the efforts of other contestants.

I expected some more contributions from the members and editors.

For the last three to four months, I regularly read about the deaths of some Indian students in the USA and Canada. I think about the unfortunate parents of these students. So, I have written this short story. The first draft of mine was of 206 words and definitely more interesting. However, I had to drastically cut it short and it was just 120 words at the end, but the story lost much of its frills in this process.

I expect Umesh Sir will continue organizing such contests and more and more members (including editors) will participate.

My hearty congratulations to all the winners and other participants of the contest conducted by Umesh sir. Thank you Umesh sir for conducting such a nice contest. Unfortunately, I could not participate in the contest due to my busy schedule. As you know it's February and I am busy with the arrangements for upcoming examinations. Thanks to ISC for providing such a nice platform for us to share our knowledge and creativity.

My hearty congratulations to Shampa Sadhya, Partha K and Neeru Bhatt on their winning in Short Story Contest.
Normally story writing is a big ambition in many of us but in spite of serious efforts only some can finish the story writing and that too very small amount of persons win in the contest. Nowadays we are writing in computer but in those days many of us wrote short stories/stories in paper and symbolically it was shown their effort as sitting amidst the scrambled paper balls to show their hard effort.

    Respected Umesh Sir,

I thank you for adjudging my story for the first prize. It was a challenge. Writing is easy with no limitations, but word count constrains creative freedom. Thus, I felt the contest was a valuable learning process.

I congratulate the other two members for winning the second and third prizes. Thanks once again for conducting a meaningful contest which imparts a learning experience.
