How to deal with unsolicited phone calls?

Of late, spam calls on our mobiles increased a lot. Especially calls from banks for loans, and calls from real estate marketing people are increasing. Every day I will be receiving at least 5 calls. This is very disturbing. When we are working seriously on some issue, the ring tone from the phone will disturb us. When we see the phone, the call is a waste call only. Unnecessarily we will be wasting our time.

If we have a true caller app on our mobile, it will identify the caller and notify them as spam also, if it is a spam call. We will be ignoring that call. But when the phone is at a distance we may have to rush there. After going there, if we notice that is a spam call we will be suffocated.

Is there any way to avoid such calls? Learned members can come forward with their suggestions on this issue.

I am also getting a number of calls from banks, financial companies, promotional channels, new business entities, etc and it has become a big disturbance. Lately I have started to block them. But they try to contact from another number that we can easily make out as the initial digits are same in all those numbers. So we have to block these numbers every time we find that it is from an unwanted source.
The problem is that mobile numbers are easily available to these people and they use some automated system for contacting us and if we take that call then we listen a recorded message regarding some promotion or business. Mobile phone is a great gadget when used for our personal work and calls but this type of unwanted calls are big nuisance.

Of late, I am receiving a lot of spam calls from the different financial institutions indicating that a loan has been approved and I need to avail of the same immediately. Knowing that the same is the spam call, I try to avoid such type of spam calls. Then they apply the different tricks to make a contact.
At best what we can do is to block such numbers which create nuisance and disturb our peace. The operation should be taken up instantly otherwise the spam number might create confusing that the same is the number of one of our relatives.
There are different types of operation methods being adopted by such callers to cheat the gullible people.

I am listing out a couple of ways to deal with these types of calls apart from blocking those numbers which other members have already suggested.

    1. Turn your mobile device in silent mode when you are doing a sensitive task. Then such calls will not bother you.
    2. You can block calls from numbers which are not in your contact list, you will find this option in your call settings, but there is a drawback in that case. Even important calls from numbers not in your contact list will be blocked.
    3. If your device has an inbuilt app to detect spam calls, you can turn it on and block those calls also by selecting the option.
    4. If you wish to stop unwanted calls from telemarketers, you can activate DND in your number by putting a request to Customer Care. You may also talk to them about the process of deactivation. It's a simple process that can be initiated through text messages.

Unwanted and unsolicited phone calls are a source of nuisance and great disturbance in our lives. Banks, business entities, and call centres want to take advantage of talking to customers in this easiest way.
Only way is to block those calls on individual basis and keep those number in the block list in our mobile device.
As mentioned above keeping the mobile phone in silent mode will also help to a great extent because if there is a genuine call we can always call back it later.

I regularly receive spam calls from property dealers, property selling/buying sites, insurance people, share traders, internet service providers, etc. etc. Sometime I feel very angry because they call in odd hours or during some important meetings.

'Do Not Disturb (DND)' does not help much. I also cannot block unknown numbers because many important people call me on official purposes, whose numbers were earlier not saved by me or they call for the first time.

However, I have come to know that these tele-callers have to function in a very inhuman condition. They have a daily target for tele-calling and in some cases, daily targets for selling the companies' products/services.

So, even if I get terribly angry/disgusted, I don't take any action against them on humanitarian ground.

The author put forth a great issue what we everybody facing daily. But according to me we need not worry on this as this is basically 'earning bread' for some genuine vendors or parties. But the miscreants utilizing that badly in the present situation which makes annoyance to us. As told by one of our friend, I put 'true caller' in my phone which normally depicts the spam. In some cases wherein I got the alert later, I used to attend and politely refused their offer or suggestion.
Today also I received a call from unknown number, initially I avoided that call but as I got ringing again from that number, I attended and found it was a call from a doctor enquired about my order of knee caps online. So, sometimes we would miss our real needy calls also.

You can't avoid such calls because their numbers are usually mobile numbers. If such calls come from landline numbers, you can easily identify and ignore them. These days you have block feature on most of the Android phones and you can keep those numbers in blacklist. They won't be able to call again once you block them.

Usually, most of these unsolicited callers are frauds and it will be in your best interest to never deal with such people. Just simply reject whatever they are selling or offering because it can ruin you financially. Most of these callers are looking to find a way to siphon money out of your bank account. Hence, just ignore them and create a blacklist of such numbers.

Humble yourself or life will do it for you!

I immediately recalled that we had this topic discussed before and through the search box I found two of the earlier threads in which we got very good tips and guidance-
    1. How to effectively handle promotional telephone calls?

    2. Promotional message and their clever technique

I sincerely hope that all the wonderful members who responded in those earlier threads return to the fold and participate in our forum discussions at least even if they do not have time to contribute to other sections. My status about the unsolicited disturbance calls is to repeat what someone said (about something different in some other context), "if you cannot avoid it simply enjoy it". I am not enjoying it anyway, but unemotionally allow it to pass on.

I don't know how precisely these unsolicited callers know when we are taking rest, or whe we are expecting some important calls. At that precise time these unwanted calls come and disturb our peace.

There is no use of DND registration. Similarly there is no use of blocking the numbers. Each da calls come from different numbers than the blocked one.
The unsolicited calls are to be treated as cyber terrorist act-they attack our peace and privacy. Until deterrent punitive measures are implemented against the service providers and the caller organizations, this will continue. Similar thing is happening in the internet also. We are bombarded with unsolicited ads, mails are filled with unwanted, unsolicited mils.
We now do not have any individual peace and privacy in this world. It is totally conquered and occupied by greedy business, that also giant multinational business. We are totally enslaved by them. Now our intellect and intelligence too is hacked by them. It is just predatory business everywhere on everything. We are just helpless now. (Sigh! Sigh!)
