    A student should never hesitate to ask questions to clear doubts

    Many students will have a fear of asking doubts in the classroom. They will stop asking due to fear that their teacher may shout. They will have a feeling that others may laugh at them thinking that their doubt is silly.

    A student should not have any doubts about the lesson he listened to or read. Then only, he/she will be able to understand the subject well. If they fail to get their doubts clarified, their doubts will be there forever. So, whether it is a small or big doubt, they should get it clarified, If they are not able to ask the classroom, they should go to the teacher separately and get clarification.

    But keep in mind that your doubts should be genuine and not to tease the teacher or other students in the class. One should not ask a question to examine the capability of his/her teacher. Hope members will agree with me.

    Some students are shy by nature and hesitate in asking questions for resolving their doubts. It harms them because they lose opportunities for learning the things correctly. All students are not like that. Only those who have got introvert tendencies during their growing up period generally have such inherent shyness in their nature.
    Parents also have a role in this because a good upbringing can bring better traits in the child and help in becoming frank and extrovert. Parents have to motivate and encourage the child so that he or she does not pick up any negative traits like shyness.
    Knowledge is power.

    When I was in my high school, I never dared to ask a question to the teacher. I felt that if I asked a question then teacher might be angry with me and bang me. I could not come out of that fear and could never ask a question to teacher. It went like that for quite some time and when I took admission in class XI then one of our teacher used to frequently ask us questions and that changed my hesitant attitude of asking questions. So, before the teacher asked me a question I started to ask my doubts so that if he asked me about something I could answer satisfactorily. The fear of not answering correctly took over the fear of not questioning.
    Thoughts exchanged is knowledge gained.

    What Neeru Bhatt Madam has said is true for me to some extent. I could not ask questions to many of the teachers because I was afraid of them or their style of teaching was so boring that I could not feel any urge to ask any question. However, there are some teachers whom I liked a lot and I used to ask a lot of questions to them.

    Fortunately, our school was/is an excellent school in South Calcutta and our batch was a brilliant batch. I used to get my doubts cleared by some of my friends who were/are brilliant in academics.
    Kabhi un mad-bhari ankhon se piya tha ek jaam, aajtak hosh nehi, hosh nehi, hosh nehi—Jigar Moradabadi ("Once I drank a cup from those drunken eyes; till now I haven't regained my senses!")

    The posting made by the author is very pertinent and very often the teachers of my school were in the habit of asking questions just ten minutes before the closing the classroom.-session. There was no more scope for the students to get their doubts resolved because of the time constraints. However, this was not the case with all the teachers. Some teachers delivered their lectures keeping in view of the difficulties of pupils' doubts and their teachings took care of the needs of the students but there were very few of such categories.
    Some teachers encouraged the pupils to meet them separately in the teachers' classroom for the alleviation of doubts. Some teachers told that taking up the session of doubt removal might eat time in on the completion of the full syllabus.
    In that way, our doubts in the high school stages remain unresolved. Meeting the teachers in their residence for the sorting out the pupil's doubts was not possible due to the involvement of the respective teachers in their private coaching.

    Though the author said is correct, we cannot take it as granted in case of all students. Here the teachers or lecturers should pose as a recipient of questions from students. Many teachers/lecturers are posing as rigid or very conditioned person. In our college during our graduation all lecturers including guest lecturers (advocate & auditors taking classes on Law, Auditing, Special Accounts, Income Tax as guest lecturers) casually taken the classes so that we any of our students approached them for clarification without any hesitation or fear. Even small unknown word made one student to get clarified. During my graduation our lawyer explained the contract under Contract Act in which he used a word 'Pardanashin women'. That word pardanashin was new to us then, so I simply approached the lawyer after the class was over for clarification. He explained the meaning with smile. That smile made me and other students with encouragement for any clarification.
    So, the approachable nature of the lecturer and teachers are important rather than the hesitation or fear in student.
