Tangible and intangible benefits from postings on ISC

Tangible benefits are benefits that can be valued in financial terms. Intangible benefits cannot be directly defined in financial terms but significantly impact our knowledge. Tangible and intangible benefits are different in the way they are measured.

All members and Editors contribute to ISC in various sections like the Forum Section, Knowledge Centre, Articles etc. These contributions will give us some tangible benefits and some intangible benefits. Tangible benefits are cash credits we get from our postings, points we get from postings and RSB we get monthly for our contributions. These can be measured in financial terms. Our writing skills will improve. Our knowledge will increase. We will get expert advice from Editors and other learned members. These are the intangible benefits. These are the benefits that come to my mind.

If any member or editor wants to add some more tangible and intangible benefits, I welcome them to do that as a response to this thread.

We have witnessed many members getting immensely benefited in terms of improvement in their creative writing standards and also improvement in their English language as the medium of writing in ISC is English.
Apart from that the learnings through contests, learning about the educational matters and issues in our country, and other such things also help members in getting awareness and knowledge in the educational field.
All the above coupled with some financial earnings make ISC an ideal place to refine one's writing potential.

    Knowledge is power.

We earlier discussed the issue of improvement in English after joining ISC threadbare. Members may kindly refer to this old Forum post: Partha, how much improvement have you noticed?.

Members may find this old Forum post and subsequent responses from regular members very interesting.

Before contributing in ISC, some of my writings were published in some common women magzines but that was mainly some recipes and stories or some common things like that. It was only when I started contributing in this site that I got exposure to forum discussions, general article writing, educational information updates, contributing courses and institutions, etc. Another interesting thing was a variety of contests conducted by Vandana from time to time and that captivated me to continue in this portal.
So, definitely there are many intangible benefits to me by working here for a good time albeit I had to take a long break due to personal reasons. Now there are many changes here but the basic idea of improving one's writing is still there for every member especially the new members. The feedback by editors is one main thing that is leading the contributors to check, edit, and resubmit their posts. Such mechanism is not available in other websites that I have visited and tried contributing.

    Thoughts exchanged is knowledge gained.

Keeping aside monetary benefits (which are not very substantial) or English writing skills (which may be doubtful), a common Indian gets information from IndiaStudyChannel. We know that in the modern era, information is power. So, if a person properly uses ISC, he/she becomes aware of new job opportunities, admission to different colleges/universities, new courses introduced by HEIs, scholarships/fellowships, new reforms in the education sector, etc.
So, in my, opinion, ISC makes a person aware and that awareness is the greatest intangible benefit offered by this site.

Partha sir has given an additional intangible benefit from ISC which is awareness one person gets from going through various pages of ISC and reading the information given there. I am glad for the information.

The author of the present posting has highlighted the benefits which we are getting in the shape of tangible and intantaginble benefits by way of our contributions. However, the tangible benefits might not appear that much attractive but considering in terms of intangible ones, we enjoy a lot shaping our styles of writing with the valuable suggestions of the editors and in that way, there is a rooom for abundant scope of our improvement in the creative writing.
The other part is the opportunity of our participation for the the different contests conducted by ISC for our mental health and such an involvement creates a healthy atmosphere of competition.
The purpose of this channel is to provide latest updates in terms of admission of distinguished institutions, job opportunities etc which makes this platform unique to the remaining ones.

ISC akin to a social media platform, there are more intangible benefits. For me I feel a team to discuss and though it is a virtual platform, I always feel as if I am discussing sitting face to face with the ISC forum participants. It gives a good time-pass and confidence.

That is true Venkiteswaran. When we read a forum response or a post in GD, we feel as if we are discussing with them face to face. Members will get bonded virtually. If a regular member is absent for some time we will incline to know about the reasons for his absence.
